Spiritual Warfare: We are all in this together.
You don't need to go very far to see the destructive forces of evil influencing our lives daily.
Turn on the news, open a paper, read Facebook or any other social media. The majority, aside from puppies and kittens, is war.
War against the very souls of men, women and children.
Drug addiction, alcoholism and a myriad of mental health issues all contribute to our downfall.
Demons hide in and use these strongholds to accomplish their sordid deeds.
The attacks are constant and ever-present. We need always to be vigilant and ready when we face this world.
Spiritual warfare is WAR. Our lives and souls are in the balance.
So what can we do? We are not all trained soldiers, ready in an instant for battle, and most of us need to prepare ourselves for the day.
Centring yourself through meditation or prayer is an excellent way to start your day. not knowing when or where the attack will come from, we must be ready with our own weapons.
Saint Paul reminds us of this in Ephesians 6:11-18. He advises us to put on the whole armour of God. The armour, however, is not what you would expect, and we have no guns or flack jackets.
Mental preparation is our armour.
Truth, righteousness, faith and the gospel message will help you quench the fiery darts shot at you by Satan and his hordes.
Let's review some mental prep that will strengthen your resolve.
Prayer and meditation can help settle you and focus your mind and willpower.
Creating a psychic bubble of light around you protects against demonic attacks.
Salt, water and essential oils can be used as buffers to ward off evil.
Burning incense, like frankincense resin, can flood any room with peace and protection.
Here's a heavy hitter for re-centring your mind and body. FLOATING.
Floating is a fun way to clear your head and work out your battle plan.
Check out this video and see why I recommend this recharge for our body and soul.
As Paul states, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
The New International Version. (2011). (Eph 6:12). Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan.
Our mental battle plans must be well thought out, practiced and repeated daily.
Your days will not always be smooth, nor can you avoid disaster or sickness.
Preparation is key to winning this daily battle we call life.
