2nd thing Satan is: Accusar

Revelation 12:10 ESV
And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.
accuser = diablos - it means devil. I want to turn to a story in Zechariah to explain this.
Context: Zechariah has vision of heavenly courtroom. God = Judge. Joshua = high priest - Satan - the prosecutor, the accusar.
Satan Appears to have a case about Joshuas sin. (And he has a case, his clothes where dirty)
Zechariah 3:1–3 ESV
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments.
Angel of Lord I think is Christ - Christophiny - An apearance of Christ in Bible in non-physical Form - Daniel - 3 Chidlren thrown in fire, there was a fourth | Christ |So what is happening here:
The enemy is accusing Joshua, Joshua was dirty when he should have been cleaned. so “Maybe he is guilty but he was being pulled from the flame.
Imagine this: Standing in front of God.
Underdressed? Anyone been underdressed?
Imagine standing in front of God with Sin on you | Then imagine the accuser pointing out what you had done wrong | Didn;t you use to do this…that etc |
Doesn’t the Enemy do this every day? “You are not good enough” etc etc.
Before we go on, who is Satan? Accuser | Who is Jesus: Jesus is our…Advocate 1 John 2:1
1 John 2:1 ESV
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
We do not come in our own rightousness, but in the righteousness of Jesus Christ who’s blood covers us
Zechariah 3:4 ESV
And the angel said to those who were standing before him, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.”
This is what happens | Yes you are Guilty | Yes you are dirty | but I, God taking away which is your sin | Not because it shows how good you are, but because it shows how good God is
Prodical Son - Same, maybe that’s where you are, far from God, and you need to run toward the Father, he runs toward you and puts robe on
Zechariah 3:5 ESV
And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord was standing by.
Then the Angel of the Lord gives Joshua an assignment: it does not say: You need to start at the bottom, go grovel, go and do what ever makes you happy.
Zechariah 3:6–7 ESV
And the angel of the Lord solemnly assured Joshua, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my charge, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here.
It says what? Return to the temple and keep serving the Lord.
Who needs to here this? but some are living under the accusations of the enemy | and you need to get back to the Temple and SERVE THE LORD

Difference between condemnation and conviction

How do we know then, when we have done something wrong, and need to come and make peace with God vs Devils accusations
Learn to discern
What does Accusation do? Drives away from God| Guilty | Shame | Pride
Conviction? Shows us need| Pulls in
Satan wants us to feel unwortthy | Spirit draws you in an d convicts you into the good nesso f God.
Satan knows your name but calls you buy your sin | God knows your sin but calls you by your name.
Paul describes whole process:
2 Corinthians 10:3–5 ESV
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
When we are accused, we can catch the firey darts, and we can draw our sword and we counter it
“You are not good enough, after what you did, God could never use you” | I will rejoice in the Lord Always
“You should feel overwhelmed, overworked” Do not be anxious for anything, but with prayer and supplication
“No one loves you” - For God so LOVED the WORLD.
“You're not good enough to use your gifts” I know the plans I have for you, good plans
“you can’t get through this” I can do ALL THINGS through HIM who STRENGHTENS ME
“How, can this be from God” I will turn ALL THINGS FOR GOOD.
Isaiah 54:17 ESV
no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
