Introduction

Last week we looked the stark contrast of the old covenant and the new covenant.
Today we look at the warning that comes from the verses that we studied last week.
There are a lot of people who have a hard time seeing both sides of Go the Great and powerful side and the side that gives grace.
this has given birth to many false gospels and many believers who only follow and trust in the New Testament.
This is where liberlism, health, wealth, and happiness, or the prosperirty gospel comes from.

Obedience vv. 25-27

Effectual Word
We should obey because Gods word is unstoppably effectual: see verse 25
God means what he says
If you look back at sinai not all the people followed God on that day, some did not follow just out of nothing more than sheer fear.
if you look on after the day at Sinai God became so mad at His people that he pronounced judgement on them right on the spot. Number 14:26-30
Just imagine that because of their attitude towards God over a million people had to die before they saw the promised land.
we must never be too afraid to follow God even though it may seem hard and sometimes scary we must always follow the plans that He has laid out for us.

Refusing Advice.—I once happened to be on a visit to a great castle situate at the top of a hill. There was a steep cliff, at the bottom of which was a rapid river. Late one night there was a woman anxious to get home from that castle in the midst of a thunder-storm. The night was blackness itself; the woman was asked to stop till the storm was over, but she declined; next they begged her to take a lantern, that she might be able to keep upon the road from the castle to her home. She said she did not require a lantern, but could do very well without one. She went. Perhaps she was frightened by the storm—I know not the cause—but in the midst of the darkness she wandered from the path and fell over the cliff. The next day that swollen river washed to the shore the poor lifeless body of this foolish woman! How many foolish ones are there who, when the light is offered them, only say, “I am not afraid; I fear not my end I” and how many have perished because they have refused the light of God’s truth, which would have guided them on the road to heaven!—Bishop Villiers.

Final Word
On the day God meet His people on the top of Mt Sinai His words literily shook the whole mountain.
These verses says that there is coming a day when he will once more shake not only the earth but the heavens as well.
God was able to speak this entire universe into being with just a few words and he will bring it down the same way.
When Christ comes back at the end of the 1000 year regin here on earth He will destory everything and make a new Heaven and a New Earth.
We as believers are the only things that will not be shaken.

Worship vv. 28, 29

The proper response to Gods gracious offer of a kingdom that cannot be shaken is to be thankful.
Such gratitude is the basis and motivation for true and acceptable worship.
As we worship God we must keep in mind not only the New Covanent but the Old as well because the same God pronounced judgemnt and death on His people is the same God that sent His son to take that punishment and death that we may live
Because of this we can come to the throne of God in a Holy Boldness because of the blood of Christ
