Hebrews 11:30 ESV
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days.
Jericho was the first stronghold upon entering the Promised Land and guarded the way of ascent to the central mountains of Judah. It pictures strongholds that we face in our Christian life, that we need God’s power to overcome indwelling sin.

Follow God’s Plan

Prepare for victory by seeking God’s plan
Joshua was preparing a battle plan, but first he had to submit to God’s direction.
The Captain of the Lord’s Host is also the Captain of our Salvation Hebrews 2:10 “For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.”
The question in our planning is not will God bless our plans, but will we follow His plan?
Do you recognize God’s presence in the midst of your challenges? They exist to cause you to look up!

Fight the Battle in Prayer

A strange battle plan. March in circles silently!
Faith requires that we seek God’s glory and will in prayer.
Faith recognizes that the battle is primarily spiritual in nature. Eph 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
Faith mean that we persist in prayer. “Men ought always to pray and not faint.”

Claim the Victory in Praise

The victory is claimed and celebrated in Praise. The blasts of the rams horns were not only a call to battle, but were used to call people to ceremonial praise.
Psalm 47:1–5 ESV
1 Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy! 2 For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared, a great king over all the earth. 3 He subdued peoples under us, and nations under our feet. 4 He chose our heritage for us, the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Selah 5 God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
