Jesus’ prayer life

Matthew 26:36 NIV
Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
Mark 1:35 NIV
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Luke 5:16 NIV
But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Luke 6:12 NIV
One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.
Luke 11:1 NIV
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
Luke 18:1 NIV
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
Matthew 6:5–8 NIV
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

How to pray?

Steps to Christ Chapter 11—The Privilege of Prayer

Through nature and revelation, through His providence, and by the influence of His Spirit, God speaks to us. But these are not enough; we need also to pour out our hearts to Him.

Steps to Christ Chapter 11—The Privilege of Prayer

In order to have spiritual life and energy, we must have actual intercourse with our heavenly Father. Our minds may be drawn out toward Him; we may meditate upon His works, His mercies, His blessings; but this is not, in the fullest sense, communing with Him.

We need to talk to God as a friend and share our life with Him. He already has shared his life with us!
The Challenge for this week
Spent 20 minutes every day
Without asking
Without thanking
Just sharing.
