Introduction

Luke 18:8 NRSV
8 I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
Time of Noah and Lot (Luke 17:26-30)
Luke 17:26–30 TPT
26 The same things that happened in the days of Noah will take place in the days of the Son of Man. 27 They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, and they were given in marriage until the day Noah boarded the ark and the devastating flood came and swept them all away. 28 “The days of the Son of Man can also be compared to the days of Lot. The people of that time lived their lives as normal. They got married, raised families, built homes and businesses, yet they were totally unaware of what was coming until the day Lot departed from Sodom. The sky opened up and rained fire and burning sulfur upon them, destroying everyone and everything they had built. So it will be on the day of the unveiling of the Son of Man.
Luke 17:33 TPT
33 All who are obsessed with being secure in life will lose it all—including their lives. But those who let go of their lives and surrender them to me will discover true life.
What kind of faith is vital in the endtimes?
Luke 18:8 The Message
8 I assure you, he will. He will not drag his feet. But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when he returns?”
Luke 18:1–8 NKJV
1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, 2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. 3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ 4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, 5 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ” 6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. 7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? 8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
Luke 18:1 TPT
1 One day Jesus taught the apostles to keep praying and never stop or lose hope. He shared with them this illustration:
Luke 18:4–5 TPT
4 “He ignored her pleas for quite some time, but she kept asking. Eventually he said to himself, ‘This widow keeps annoying me, demanding her rights, and I’m tired of listening to her. Even though I’m not a religious man and don’t care about the opinions of others, I’ll just get her off my back by answering her claims for justice and I’ll rule in her favor. Then she’ll leave me alone.’ ”
Luke 18:4-5 TPT
“This widow keeps annoying me, demanding her rights, and I’m tired of listening to her.
Luke 18:6–7 TPT
6 The Lord continued, “Did you hear what the ungodly judge said—that he would answer her persistent request? 7 Don’t you know that God, the true judge, will grant justice to all of his chosen ones who cry out to him night and day? He will pour out his Spirit upon them. He will not delay to answer you and give you what you ask for.
Luke 18:6-7 Translated from Aramaic Text: ‘He will pour out his Spirit upon them’
The Greek text has an unusual verb that means “ever tapping” signifying one who keeps knocking on the door of heaven until he receives what he came for.
The Son of Man is looking for those who continue to believe in him, despite the wait.
When I, the Messiah,[a] return, how many will I find who have faith and are praying?
when the Son of Man comes, will He find [this kind of persistent] faith on the earth?
But when the Son of Man comes, will he find this trust on the earth at all?
But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when he returns?”
The just shall live by his faith. (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38)
Habakkuk 2:4 NKJV
4 “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.
Romans 1:17 NKJV
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
Galatians 3:11 NKJV
11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”
Hebrews 10:38 NKJV
38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”
Session: Hearing God - the right way
Romans 10:17
Romans 10:17 NKJV
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Keith Moore says, “Faith doesn’t come by reading your Bible—unless you heard from Him while you were reading.”
The hearing referred to in this verse is much more than having sound waves bounce off your eardrums or just having read the Bible.
The kind of hearing that brings faith is the same kind of hearing Jesus was referring to in Matthew 11:15 when He said, “He who has ears, let him hear” (TLV).
Romans 10:17 TPT
17 Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of the Anointed One.
Rhema - A rhema is a spoken utterance by the Holy Spirit directly to you regarding a scripture or situation
Luke 8:8 TPT
8 Yet some of the seed fell into good, fertile soil, and it grew and flourished until it produced more than a hundredfold harvest, a bumper crop.” Then Jesus added, shouting out to all who would hear, “Listen with your heart and you will understand!”
Luke 8:8 (TPT) “Listen with your heart and you will understand!”
You need God’s Anointing to hear a rhema word with your heart and then line up your confessions accordingly.
Romans 10:14 asks us to consider this: How can you believe if you haven’t heard? Keith Moore says, “You can’t, and you won’t. There is no believing without hearing and there is no faith without believing.”
Luke 8:18 TPT
18 So pay careful attention to your hearts as you hear my teaching, for to those who have open hearts, even more revelation will be given to them until it overflows. And for those who do not listen with open hearts, what little light they imagine to have will be taken away.”
Luke 18:8 (TPT) So pay careful attention to your hearts as you hear my teaching, for to those who have open hearts
In our generation to the entire body of Christ— remanent must be very careful to listen to God as we are the last generation
Revelation 2:17 TPT
17 But the one whose heart is open let him listen carefully to what the Spirit is presently saying to all the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will let him feast on the hidden manna and give him a shining white stone. And written upon the white stone is inscribed his new name, known only to the one who receives it.
Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13 &22 (TPT) - But the one whose heart is open let him listen carefully to what the Spirit is presently saying to all the churches
In the spirit realm, you hear with your heart. The condition of your heart affects your ability to hear. If you are bitter or unforgiving, or think you have it all figured out, you’re not hearing with your heart and you’re going to miss what God has to say to you.
How to silence other voices: (Luke 8:15 - TPT)
Luke 8:15 TPT
15 The seed that fell into good, fertile soil represents those lovers of truth who hear it deep within their hearts. They respond by clinging to the word, keeping it dear as they endure all things in faith. This is the seed that will one day bear much fruit in their lives.”
Session: How to walk by faith:
The just live by faith -
2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7 “We live by what we believe will happen, not by what we can see” (ERV)
Faith is not believing God can . It is knowing that God will
Hebrews 11:1 TPT
1 Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.
Luke 18:4-4 TPT
“This widow keeps annoying me, demanding her rights, and I’m tired of listening to her.
Everything that right fully belongs to you according to the scripture and what your received through Rhema - you can place a demand on
Your willing heart, makes a hearing ear. Then God’s Anointing helps you to hear a rhema word with your heart and then line up your confessions accordingly.
Teachable heart is extremely important to hear Him - Luke 8:10 (TPT)
Luke 8:10 TPT
10 He said, “You have been given a teachable heart to perceive the secret, hidden mysteries of God’s kingdom realm. But to those who don’t have a listening heart, my words are merely stories. Even though they have eyes, they are blind to the true meaning of what I say, and even though they listen, they won’t receive full revelation.
When you’re closed off to the idea that you might be wrong about some things, you’re going to have trouble hearing from God—whether it be through His Word or through others. An unwilling heart makes a deaf spiritual ear, which causes your confessions to be led by the flesh, not by the spirit.
John 15:7 NKJV
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
A good number of Spirit-filled believers have gotten into the habit of using certain terms very loosely. Terms like, “I’m believing.”
I’m believing God for this, and I’m believing God for that. It sounds very spiritual and faith-filled. But the question is…
Based on what?
The Bible is a big book filled with hundreds of promises for every situation. So how do you know what to stand on?
Just picking a set of scriptures out of the Word to stand on without hearing from God first is a recipe for confessions that don’t work. Faith doesn’t come from going through your concordance and finding verses about something unless He quickened one of them to you. When you stand on and confess a verse over your situation, it should be an anointed rhema to you.
Now, you can ask God for something that isn’t specified in His Word, but you cannot confess something into being just because you want it.
If you become more selective, you’ll become more effective.
Anointing leads to Hearing … Faith comes and Obedience required to brings results
Example - Psalm 91 - women
Numbers 14:25 NKJV
25 Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwell in the valley; tomorrow turn and move out into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.”
Numbers 14:41 NKJV
41 And Moses said, “Now why do you transgress the command of the Lord? For this will not succeed.
Practical ways and application to victorious living
Session: How to overcome obstacles
1 Corinthians 16:9 NKJV
9 For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
Why God allows obstacles?
To test our trust in Him
To train our hearing abilities
To show He is the God of impossibilities (Matthew 19:26)
To show that HE is God
Matthew 19:26 NKJV
26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Story of Abraham and Sarah - the greatest obstacle to birth a life of promise
Genesis 17:15–19 NKJV
15 Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. 16 And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.” 17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?18 And Abraham said to God, “Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!” 19 Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.
Genesis 18:14–15 NKJV
14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” 15 But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. And He said, “No, but you did laugh!”
Genesis 18::14,15 - Nothing is impossible with God but in His timing
Numbers 11:21–22 NKJV
21 And Moses said, “The people whom I am among are six hundred thousand men on foot; yet You have said, ‘I will give them meat, that they may eat for a whole month.’ 22 Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to provide enough for them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to provide enough for them?”
Numbers 11:23 NKJV
23 And the Lord said to Moses, “Has the Lord’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.”
Numbers 11:21-23 - God’s hand is not shortened
Sam & Suganthi’s personal story of the great obstacle
Session: God is always on the time, every time - Sam and Suganthi personal testimonies in 4 different countries of God’s faithfulness
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
God Bless!
