Haman the Son of Hammedath v.1
He was called the Agagite. This could mean that came was an Amalekite, the enemy of the Jews.
This also could mean he was from the province Agag located in the Persian empire of that time
He had been promoted while Mordecai was unrewarded for saving the kings life
Mordecai’s irreverence v.2-3
The king had given the order for Haman to be bowed before v.2
This is not the same as Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, for He was not required to worship but bow in respect
It is most likely he did not bow out of stubbornness, then tried to use his nationality as an excuse
Haman’s reaction v.4-6
Haman probably looked upon the Jews as a servant nation
He was not comforted by killing just Mordecai but to kill his whole nation
The Pur or Lot v.7

He cast for the month and for the day on which the act would take place.

The permission to do it and the royal signet was given to give him the authority to do it

posts were stables set up a days ride apart from one another by king Cyrus to get information out quickly
Criminals and all kinds of enemies were killed with there whole family so as not to fear the next generations revenge
Those who killed the people will take the spoil as a prize
As Nero fiddled while Rome was burning, so these two sat and had a drink. Cold and callus to the destruction of life just planned.
