Psalm 44

Going Well (vs1-8)

Remembering past stories points us to the power of God.

Remembering evidence of God’s work strengthens our faith (Romans 15:4).

We must always have a God centered response when it’s going well.

In the good times, we must be seeking to build up our walk with God.

The Downturn

Verses 9-16 describe a time of disgrace, shame, and defeat.

Verses 17-21 show this is hard to understand when there’s no obvious sin.

These struggles can lead to a variety of questions.

In the down times, we are often left echoing vs23-26.

Reality

God answers the cry of vs26 in Romans 8:31-39.

He shows us that our afflictions are never for nothing.

2 Corinthians 4:7-12 lets us know our afflictions are not final.

God’s power is the same and He works to give life in afflictions.
