Confusion about who you are.

Trends

“Rapid onset gender dysphoria” has increased by a factor of 1000% in the last 10 years in America. In Britain, the number is 4000%.

Puberty blockers, testosterone, and surgery are routinely considered and administered.

We used to call girls who liked to play rough and tumble “tomboys.” Now we call them gender fluid. It’s an amazing transition.

“Did God really make me this way?”

Intentional Confusion

In schools

Once a student expresses that they are unsure about their gender, they can be categorized LGBTQ. The “Q” stands for queer or questioning.

This categorization can qualify students to be counseled by “experts,” with or without parent’s knowledge.

Experts can then begin puberty blockers, hormone therapy, etc.

California Teachers Union wants minors to be able to get sex change surgery without parental consent.

“In [the National 2020 Sex Ed Standards, 2nd edition] NSES, gender is defined as a social construct, therefore, it’s possible to reject or modify one’s “sex assigned at birth” and develop something that feels truer to oneself. (p. 58) Examples of gender include, but are NOT LIMITED to: male, female, transgender, androgenous, agender, gender expansive, genderqueer, nonbinary, two-spirit, intersex, or questioning. Genderqueer means a person can identity as both genders, neither gender, something in-between or BEYOND genders (p. 59, 61, 67).”1

In “public health”

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) says children can “create” or invent their own genders.

In poliltics

Denying unlimited genders is racism.

Joe Biden: “The idea that an 8-year-old child or a 10-year-old child decides, ‘I decided I want to be transgender. That’s what I think I’d like to be. It’d make my life a lot easier’ — there should be zero discrimination.”2

Destructive confusion

This confusion is not an accident. The god of this world takes great pleasure in deforming, defacing, diminishing, and destroying the image of God. The gender and sexual confusion we are witnessing is the result of a full assault of Satan.

Confusion in the church

Judgment of God

Transition: We don’t have the flexibility to ignore this issue. We can’t sweep it under the rug. If we, the church, don’t provide answers, the confused will look elsewhere for them. And as we’ve just seen, the answers all trend in the same, destructive direction.

How Do We Discern the Truth?

Clarity of Scripture - There are only two genders, and romance is only for a man and woman.

God created male and female at the beginning.

God prohibits homosexual relationships (male/male, female/female).

The OT is clear.

Sodom and Gomorrha

Law of Moses

Benjamites of Judges

The NT is clear.

Homosexual practice is never affirmed.

Homosexual practice is prohibited.

The clarity of natural law.

Obvious physical features

Reproduction as the purpose of marriage (Genesis 1:26, Creation Mandate)

The clarity of church history.

Conclusion:

Hope for the confused.
