CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH

1 Timothy 6:11-14 (ESV) 11  But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 12  Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13  I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, 14  to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Samuel 30:6 (ESV) 6  And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.
Romans 4:20 (NIV2011) 20  Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
2 Cor 10:4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”
