Intro - Isaiah 33.6 “Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure.”
Context - Isaiah has given out prophetic rebukes, encouragements, destruction to different people groups but in this passage he is speaking of the last days.
Some versions have it as “He will be your security” But I like the NKJV because it speaks to HOW Jesus is manifested in our lives. Through Wisdom and Knowledge
There are 4 key words or phrases that I want to look at in this verse today.

Title - Bible Study - Isaiah 33.6
Isaiah 33.6 “Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure.”
Stability of your times - This phrase caught my eye immediately. If there was a word to describe the times we are living in it would not be stability.

The state of being in a firm or unwavering situation, whether emotional, political or personal. Stability is an important element of a settled life before God.

Isaiah says that wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times. I believe one of the main issues we have is sitting in our pockets. We have become so dependent on our iphones and what is going on in that little black box and neglected the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord ie The Bible and wonder what happened to our stability!?
Videos of politicians changing their minds on significant issues. (its all of them!) There is only one thing that has stood true and unchanged for thousands of years, The Word of God!
The strength of salvation - Stored Treasure, wealth or treasure
Story of Ry saving candy for later. She was storing up treasure for when she wanted it later.
Why is it so important to pursue wisdom and knowledge every day? Just like Ry saving her candy, there is going to be a day you need wisdom and unless you have been storing it up you will not have it!
Isaiah is saying wisdom and knowledge are your stability and strength of your salvation. Like a store house you should be full of wisdom and knowledge of the Lord!
Wisdom & Knowledge
Wisdom - The skill of living. More than just information, wisdom speaks to how information is applied to life.
Knowledge - The truth of Gods word
I believe many of us have tried to operate or prioritize one over the other. We have tried to use wisdom without knowledge which has gotten us into some weird theology or we move in knowledge without wisdom and cause more pain and division.
Sons of Issachar 1 Chronicles 12.32 “of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;”
We have all heard this verse before but the context brings a whole deeper meaning. These sons of Issachar came to Dave at Hebron after Saul and his sons had passed. They played an important of this monumental transferal of power from Saul to David.
I believe the Lord is prophetically calling the church to be lead by wisdom and knowledge in the same way the sons of Issachar were. So that just as they moved from the kingdom of Saul (Representing self) to the kingdom of David (representing God) we can move from this humanistic, Do what makes you happy culture to the Kingdom of the Lord!
But we must be lead by wisdom and Knowledge!
