Genesis

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

What God created in the very first moments of creation was

without form

and void

and covered in darkness

Our life in many ways

Echos the creation account

you are given a blank slate

its without form

Then God began to bring order

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness

One step at a time

And it will begin

With what you speak

God spoke a series of statements

Bringing order to the chaos

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Its Gods first nature revealed

You are made in His Image

And He gave you Dominion

Say dominion

Over every living thing

You are not a victim to your circumstances

You have dominion

Why?

Because God gave you dominion

Next we see the Fall of Man

The first sin

Invite chaos

Back into creation

Holy Spirit in the OT

The Spirit hovering over the deep

The Spirit will hover over the darkness of your soul

(First mention) Theology

God years ago helped me to see the account of creation in a new light

He let me see that the creative, life giving nature of God

And how it parallels into the sound of men

That's God's nature

Holy Spirit

God is creator devil is corruption

Or counterfeiters

See no one ever counterfeits a penny

They only counterfeit large bills

The devil only counterfeits things of value

And when I see a counterfeit

I get excited because

I know I found something of great value

The most counterfeited thing in Christianity is the Holy Spirit

And just because we see all the counterfeit activities

Doesn't mean we should shy away from it

It means we should run to it

Not the counterfeit of course

But to seek out the real thing

Spirit hover over the deep

Evangelism

God on the inside of a person filled with darkness

Prophecy

Holy Spirit speaks

Apostolic

Holy Spirit creates

Pastoral

Holy Spirit comforts

Teaches

Holy Spirit guides us into all truth

That didn't start after Christ ascended

God's nature was released and revealed in creation

When Adam and eve sinned they felt something different

Shame and guilt

See they had been filled with the Spirit

Immersed in the Spirit

Sin is what put them in opposition to the Spirit

The Spirit is likened to a dove

Be careful then how you walk…

The new testament is re-emphasizing the original design

The original intent of God in creation
