Intro
Read Mark 1:29-39
Story picks up right after the last scene
Were Jesus cast out the demon
The disciples are starting to understand who this Jesus is
A man with authority
A man who needed no one else to help him understand the word because he wrote it
We now move IMMEDIATELY to another scene
A scene where we are in a house an older lady lay sick with a fever
this is before Tylenol
she was not doing well
this was the most pressing need in the house at the moment
what happens immediately it is brought to Jesus attention
he picks her up and she is able to serve them
no small thing
the idea of hospitality was a big thing
she wanted to serve
not only did Jesus heal her sickness but he healed completely so she could serve
he not only healed her but he enabled her to do her desire
what happens after that shows us an important picture of who Jesus is
The whole town comes all the sick all the broken are brought to him
have you ever been overwhelmed by people
he heals them all
his compassion is so great he invested the time to serve them
the servant king heals them
discipline of silenece
the king understands it doesn’t stop here
more to do
