The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (ἐπιτίθημι, ἐπίθεσις)

The rite of laying on hands is denoted 20 times by the verb, ἐπιτίθημι χεῖρά (or χεῖρας) τινι (or ἐπί τινα, ἐπί τι), and 4 times by the noun ἐπίθεσις τῶν χειρῶν. One must distinguish between laying on hands in healing, for which there are parallels in the world of Hellenistic religion, and laying on hands in blessing, especially to impart the Spirit at baptism and ordination, which is inherited especially from the OT and Judaism, → line 11 ff. On the other hand the two rites are united again in the fact that the divine and human hand is the most important instrument to convey the powers of healing and blessing.

The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (κράσπεδον)

In the story of the healing of the woman with an issue of blood the hem of the garment plays an important role. The woman believes that by touching the κράσπεδον τοῦ ἱματίου of Jesus (Mt. 9:20; Lk. 8:44) she will be the recipient of His healing power.5 Even though her views border on the magical, Jesus perceives the faith of the woman and He therefore assures her of healing.
