· Without a purpose, life is trivial, petty, and pointless.
· Let’s talk about the benefits of a purpose driven life.

Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life.

a. When you have no hope
i. You are Hopeless
ii. Where does this hopelessness come from?
iii. It come from not having a purpose some value
iv. Once you land on your purpose life seems to come alive
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Knowing your purpose simplifies your life.

a. “To do” list
i. Anybody have one of those?
ii. Why do we make them?
iii. We want to get the important stuff done.
iv. Let me give you this challenge

Important vs Urgent

i. Important activities have an outcome that leads to us achieving our goals, whether these are professional or personal. Urgent activities demand immediate attentionand are usually associated with achieving someone else's goals.
c. What does purpose do?
i. It teaches us what is important
ii. We can cut out what is not
Isaiah 26:3 NLT
3 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
iv. Peace of mind

Knowing your purpose focuses your life.

a. Focus Mode
i. iPhone latest update
ii. I have a preaching mode, Quiet time, work, study
iii. Why have that on a phone?
iv. The notifications are a huge distraction
b. Churches can become so distracted also
i. And their preacher
ii. If you want your life to have impact, focus it! Stop dabbling. Stop trying to do it all. Do less. Prune away even good activities and do only that which matters most.

Do you know the good vs great?

c. I am going to do what the apostle Paul did
Philippians 3:13 NLT
13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,

Knowing your purpose motivates your life.

a. Passion
i. This the H in Shape
ii. What’s your passion?
iii. I love pastoring a church
iv. I think about it nonstop
v. When I deliver the mail not so much (No passion)
vi. Purpose gives you that focus

Knowing your purpose prepares you for eternity

a. Eternal perspective
i. Current events are important but not as important as eternity
Philippians 3:20 NLT
20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.
iii. This an important key to fulfilling your purpose
