Spirit, Soul & Body: Carnality vs Spirituality

1 Thessalonians 5:23 “May the God who gives peace make you holy in every way. May he keep your whole being—spirit, soul, and body—blameless when our Lord Jesus Christ comes.”

You see here in this verse of a scripture, the three parts of a man. Man is a spirit who possesses a soul and they live in a body. You are spirit beings. You don’t have a spirit, YOU ARE a spirit. You possess, you have a soul. That’s your mind, that’s your will , that’s your emotions, your personality, that’s your conscious, your thinker , your feeler, your chooser. You have a soul. You are a spirit being and you possess a soul. Your body doesnt possess the soul. What do you think a demon possesses ? They move into the soul! Your body has a brain. It’s carnal. Meaning led of the 5 senses. The body believes the senses. Dont get cut off by carnality. Believe the Word and spirit. You, spirit being, the real YOU who is a Spirit the Bible says in the book of Genesis “let us make man in our image. So the part of you that looks like God is the spirit, the real you, the core of your being. Its what gives you life. It causes the soul to live and the body to live. The center of who you are. You don’t have a spirit, you are a spirit. When I look at you, Im looking at the house you live in, not you the spirit. The bible calls your body a home. You just live in the house of a physical body. Without a physical body we cannot dwell on earth. I can feel this podium because I have a physical body. Physical things go with physical things. Without this earth suit, we wouldn’t be able to have that physical authority. Say out loud, Repeat with me, ‘I am a spirit, made in the image of God, I possess a soul , and I live in a physical body.

You cannot contact your spirit thru your emotions or your physical body. The spirit realm cannot be naturally seen or felt. We live in physical realm. And running concurrently and at the same time is the spiritual realm. However in the natural, you cannot see or feel that spiritual world. The Bible says, that while we are at home in this body, we are confident we are absent from the Lord. And to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 corinthians 5:6 Therefore we cannot see the spirit with the physical body unless God grants a special moment like He did for a few people in the bible.

The only way to perceive spiritual truth then, is thru the word of God. Remember what Jesus said, The words that I speak unto you , they are spirit and they are life. So the word of God is the only way to perceive spiritual truth. The word perceive means to become aware of. Meaning to envision or to Understand. So it is only by our belief and faith in God that we have any understanding of the spiritual realm. It makes us aware of the Holy Spirit, our spirit , angels, the spirit realm. Only the word. Subtract the Bible from this equation and we are stuck in a physical, carnal world, with no contact with the spiritual realm. The Bible is the key to knowing that. We are living in a world that does all it can to kick it out, its not even preached in churches anymore But it is key to operation in the kingdom of God.

So you are a spirit and the only way to know about that real you is thru the word of God. Now when we look into a mirror, we see only a reflection of the body. We have never looked directly at our bodies. That’s a reflection. Our eyes haven’t popped out and looked straight at our bodies lol. So you’ve never seen your body completely. We know that’s not the real you because it can’t be touched, its just a reflection. But you’ve grown to trust that reflection. You trust that mirror enough that when it shows u a hair out of place, you fix it. That reflection youve grown to trust. Like that mirror, the bible will show you a true reflection of your spirit. So if you want to know what ur spirit man should look like, look in the bible! Read it and study it diligently and it directs you and leads you. You will begin to see who you really are, and what you really look like. You are a new creation, a brand new man. Stop looking at your sin and mistakes. Look to Jesus to see what you really look like! Stop looking at ur performance of ur soul and body. It looks just like God. His image! Open the bible to see your reflection. Say again, I am a spirit, I possess a soul, I live in a body. And now that I am born again, My spirit is perfect. I look just like Jesus.

Now that you are born again, you are not in the process of trying to get anything from God. Everything you will ever need in the christian life is present in its entirety in you spirit. Why? because the day you got born again, you and God were married, in union with God. You are ONE with God. He released everything of Him into YOU! So It’s not a matter of trying to get something from Him. Its a matter of recognizing what you already got! Your body’s sick, you try to get healing, God says I already gave it to ya. Turn to your neighbor and say I got it! Peace, you got it. Everything you been trying to get, you got! Look at ephesians chapter 3 for proof. There’s a battle going on right now, youre trying to receive it with your soul and body, but you need your spirit Who is one with God.

The word Might, is the ability to do anything. Its an anointing. Old testament even says the spirit of might. Remember when The Bible says the spirit came mightily upon Elisha? The spirit had to come upon Elisha bc no one was yet born again and received the Holy Spirit And had what we have. So everything had to come on them. He wasnt living in them. Look at Ephesians 3 again. Where did He strengthen us? In the inner man! So might has been released into our spirit man. The very power that rose Jesus from the dead lives inside of you! We must realize we have the fullness of Christ in us!! ill prove it you. Go to St john,

Have two people hold up my signs with me on spirit soul and body. Explain The flow from spirit to body. The mind has to agree with spirit to get access for the body. Don’t be led of the body bc then youre cut off from spiritual resources. Be led of the spirit and live!

The only way you’re gonna get this, the key is the Word! Make time for the Word of God in your Life. Thats the only way to become spiritual minded! When our thoughts become dominated by the Word of God, we become spiritually minded! Thats the plan of the devil , to keep us away from that Word. Alright, now let me present my message now lol.

Look at Romans 8

So those who are believers in Christ Jesus can no longer be condemned. The standards of the Spirit, who gives life through Christ Jesus, have set you free from the standards of sin and death. It is impossible to do what God’s standards demand because of the weakness our human nature has. But God sent his Son to have a human nature as sinners have and to pay for sin. That way God condemned sin in our corrupt nature. Therefore, we, who do not live by our corrupt nature but by our spiritual nature, are able to meet God’s standards.

Those who live by the corrupt nature have the corrupt nature’s attitude. But those who live by the spiritual nature have the spiritual nature’s attitude. The corrupt nature’s attitude leads to death. But the spiritual nature’s attitude leads to life and peace. This is so because the corrupt nature has a hostile attitude toward God. It refuses to place itself under the authority of God’s standards because it can’t. Those who are under the control of the corrupt nature can’t please God. But if God’s Spirit lives in you, you are under the control of your spiritual nature, not your corrupt nature.

Whoever doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ doesn’t belong to him. However, if Christ lives in you, your bodies are dead because of sin, but your spirits are alive because you have God’s approval. Does the Spirit of the one who brought Jesus back to life live in you? Then the one who brought Christ back to life will also make your mortal bodies alive by his Spirit who lives in you.

So, brothers and sisters, we have no obligation to live the way our corrupt nature wants us to live. If you live by your corrupt nature, you are going to die. But if you use your spiritual nature to put to death the evil activities of the body, you will live. Certainly, all who are guided by God’s Spirit are God’s children. You haven’t received the spirit of slaves that leads you into fear again. Instead, you have received the spirit of God’s adopted children by which we call out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. If we are his children, we are also God’s heirs. If we share in Christ’s suffering in order to share his glory, we are heirs together with him.

At the same time the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we don’t know how to pray for what we need. But the Spirit intercedes along with our groans that cannot be expressed in words. The one who searches our hearts knows what the Spirit has in mind. The Spirit intercedes for God’s people the way God wants him to.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan. This is true because he already knew his people and had already appointed them to have the same form as the image of his Son. Therefore, his Son is the firstborn among many children. He also called those whom he had already appointed. He approved of those whom he had called, and he gave glory to those whom he had approved of.

The one who loves us gives us an overwhelming victory in all these difficulties. I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love which Christ Jesus our Lord shows us. We can’t be separated by death or life, by angels or rulers, by anything in the present or anything in the future, by forces or powers in the world above or in the world below, or by anything else in creation.

Summary: Our spirits agree with the Word of God. Therefore, when we allow our souls (our minds) to agree with the Word, the body has to submit. However, when the body is leading us, we are being led by what we can see, hear, touch, and smell. To believe with our spirits means to believe beyond what our senses tell us. The battle of believing the Word despite the senses is the essence of carnality versus spirituality.

How do you ever again tolerate something like sickness or depression when you have the answers inside of you? WE must acknowledge we have healing in us for ourselves and we pray and heal unbelievers for miracles, for a witness to the world. Matthew 10:8 “Heal the sick, bring the dead back to life, cleanse those with skin diseases, and force demons out of people. Give these things without charging, since you received them without paying.”

The bible calls us partakers from here on out.

partakers of the heavenly calling.

for we have become partakes of Christ.

have become partakers of the Holy Spirit.

partakers of His holiness.

Whereof all our partakers, not illegitimates, but sons.
