Divine judgment and eternal condemnation aren’t the most popular Christian topics these days. But we see how our society yearns at times for justice to be served against the perpetrators of wrongdoing. In 2 Peter 2 we not only find a description of the false teacher’s deceit, but we also observe their final and necessary destruction. Yet in this sobering and serious passage we find a message of hope—that not only does the Lord the ungodly, but He knows how to rescue the godly.
