II Names Of God
25. Branch Semah ( Tseh’-makh)Zechariah 3:8 “Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, And thy fellows that sit before thee: For they are men wondered at: For, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.”
Branch Semah ( Tseh’-makh) it means to sprout and bring forth and bud to grow again and is a term used to describe Jesus. The subscription in most Christian Bibles is Christ the Branch is Promised. The term Branch was used by Isaiah 4:2 “In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely For them that are escaped of Israel.”
The term Branch was also used by Zechariah right after the Babylonian Captivity period. And being fresh in the hearts and minds of the Israelites God sent the prophet to fortell of the coming of the Branch Jesus the Christ The Branch Semah (tseh-makh) Christ the Promised King. In that day the Branch will be beautiful and glorious and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel. The branch is described as coming from the stump of Jesse. Jesse was David’s daddy and David brought in the blood line of Jesus that’s why scripture said a root out of dry ground. Jesus comes from the line and lineage of David and furthermore From his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him Isaiah 11:1-2 “And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and might, The spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;”
The Branch Semah represents the Spirit of the true and living God in the personality of Jesus The Christ . The promised King.
Father God in thee name of the Branch Jesus the Christ we want too say thank you because you said that whosoever is connect to the True Vine is connect to God and will have eternal Life through the Branch Semah thank you Lord Jesus for providing a way for my salvation. Amen.
26. Bread Of Life John 6:35 “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
Bread Of Life - Artos Zoes
To get right started Bread in the Greek vernacular is the word Artos . Artos in this text refers to Jesus as God in that it refers to the Head of the Household beginning His meal with thanksgiving and therefore; becoming the symbolic expression that was ultimately used by Jesus to describe Himself at the Last Supper. Artos Jesus Artos Bread.
Then #2. Of Life in the Greek vernacular is the word Zoes. Zoes is Christ speaking of being Life not just speaking of having Life, not just as a creature but as the Creator or Giver Of Life therefore being The Bread Of Life. When we break Bread with someone it usually means sharing a simple meal together. Most likely this occasion means that we have begun a relationship based on trust with one another. That’s why a man always ask a woman out to dinner, because it’s intimate and endearing. And The Bread of Life Jesus Christ asks us out to dinner because He wants an intimate agape relationship with mankind. The Artos Zoes The Bread of Life.
Let me point out for our hearing that In doing the names of God, when I clearly say Jesus is Bread in a starving land, I mean it.And when the storm was over and all of our food had spoiled despite our best efforts, and the Lord Jesus put it on the hearts and minds of certain folk of the membership of the Shiloh MBC Port Allen to make sure that the Allen Family had Bread to eat , then I knew that Artos Zoes was fully at work that The Bread Of Life was on display that Jesus is Bread in a starving land was in full action.Activated to personally come and see about me.
And so Jesus will be Artos Zoes the Bread of Life for His believers. Listen to me real good, if you truly believe what you teach and preach then God will reach into your life and make it show it up, so that God can show out and show off on your behalf. well I’m out of time but remember The Bread Of Life Artos Zoes
Let’s pray Father thank you for being the Bread of Life The Artos Zoes. Thank you for providing everything that I need in life and even in eternal life.
27. Bridegroom Matthew 9:15 “And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.”
Bridegroom is a special term it’s a special name of God because even in the book of revelation Christ is spoken of as the Bridegroom that is coming back for His church. A church without spot or wrinkle.
In Revelation 19:6-10 “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
This prophecy is real and one day every living person has an opportunity to participate in the great marriage supper of the Lamb and Jesus is the Lamb. Jesus is the Bridegroom.
and all of us married or single will meet our Bridegroom, Jesus. Revelation 19:6-10 tell us of the great ceremony. I want to be a part of that celebration, that great ceremony. In the Greek vernacular the word Bridegroom is Numphonos. Numphonos is described as the relationship of Jesus Christ with His Church.
The Church belongs to Jesus . jesus told Peter Upon this Rock I build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. In this great love story we must remember that God designed this plan of salvation for mankind. Because the bible says that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting Life. In eternity pass Jesus was already the Bridegroom. The Numphonos. In eternity pass there has already been great anticipation for the marriage supper of the Lamb. That the talk of the town in Heaven. We talk about the weddings of the century down here on planet earth but heaven has been planning this wedding since before the beginning ever began. Isaiah 62:5 “For as a young man marrieth a virgin, So shall thy sons marry thee: And as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, So shall thy God rejoice over thee.”
Let’s rejoice over the Bridegroom over the Numphonos. In New Testament history there is a metaphor for the church and this is how it goes “Christ is pictured as the husband and the church as His bride. Let me back it up in 2 Corinthians 11:2 2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. Paul teaches the church at Corinth that he trying to present Christ a perfect virgin church that has not been defiled by sin. The Bridegroom or the Numphonos is quintessential to the fate of the Christian Church. In other words without the Bridegroom there is no need for a bride. Without Jesus there is no Salvation. For the bible says that there is no other name under the heavens whereby men must be saved but the name of Jesus. The name of the Bridegroom the name of Numphonos. Wow that’s powerful because there is further proof of this turn with me to Matthew 25:1-13 “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. …”
The Holy Bible: King James Version.
This parable is a vivid example of the Bridegroom coming back for a prepared people a prepared church a church positioned to go back with the Bridegroom the Numphonos. Too many people want to play around like they have time. and act like the Lord will delay His coming just because we are doing wrong things, just because we are unprepared, just because we are doing the status quo like everybody else is doing.
And the hint of caution in the text is that Jesus is coming back. The eschatological focus is on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ the Bridegroom the Numphonos. In ancient times the Bridegroom would try and impress the father of the bride by showing his worth or his possessions so that the father would feel secure about allowing his daughter to be married to a man that can fully provide for her. And that’s what Jesus did for us . Jesus courts His church. The courtship of Christ follows the traditional guidelines. Because Jesus chose us to be His own John 15:16 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. And then verse 13 in John 15  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Jesus chose us and Jesus the Numphonos laid down His life for His friends. That’s a thank you Jesus moment that’s a thank you Numphonos moment because one day
The Numphonos is the Bridegroom is coming back for His bride, the Christian Church.
Father we thank you for Jesus your Son who is being the Numphonos, the Bridegroom which provides for us the way of salvation for the Christian believer. Father we bless this newly discovered name of God, and we thank you for the Holy Ghost for always being the perfect teacher. Thank you dear God for everything In the Bridegroom’s name Numphonos Amen.
28. Carpenter Jesus Mark 6:3 “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.”
Carpenter a worker of wood not stone or metal or tile but that of wood. And interestingly enough Jesus the Son of God sent most of His adult life being a carpenter’s son. Joseph His stepfather was a carpenter. Joseph could build you a house in a minute, and therefore his sons were carpenters as well.
but when Jesus turned 30 He took in his true nature. The role of the suffering servant the role of the messiah, the role of the propitiation, the role of king as Matthew states, the role as servant as Mark states , the role of son of man as Luke states, and the role of son of God as John states.
out of all of the many roles Jesus is and chose to be here in Mark 6:3 the people of his hometown describes Him as the carpenter’s son. Carpenter 3x In the Greek vernacular is the word Tekton meaning a craftsman a carpenter. And so the townspeople of Nazareth were amazed. They only knew Jesus a lowly tradesman. But in the future the term Carpenter or Tekton would carry the meaning of being a blessed name of God’s Son Jesus the Carpenter. How about that? Who would have considered the craft of carpenter as Jesus’ profession.
We always say Jesus is the King, Suffering Servant, the Son of Man and the Son of God as we describe the Master in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. But prior to Jesus’ public ministry he was a Carpenter A Tekton. In the town of Nazareth there were lots of carpenters. In fact it was known as a town full of carpenters so you could get a carpenter for a reasonable price. They were a dime a dozen.
But In 2021 since hurricane Ida which was a deadly storm, it’s hard to find a reasonable carpenter or contractor. Everybody’s prices are sky high and you’re on a longggg waiting list, and too many of them are straight out and out crooks. They’ll take your money and won’t do the work and some them skip town. Right now, I don’t look up to carpenters. Not now! and the people of the text didn’t look too kindly on Jesus as well.
When Jesus stepped into being prophetic, pious and priestly ministry, the townspeople actually got offended. They got mad that Jesus has risen above their station in life.
In the NCV Turn to Mark 6:6 Jesus left there and went to his hometown, and his followers went with him. 2 On the Sabbath day he taught in the synagogue. Many people heard him and were amazed, saying, “Where did this man get these teachings? What is this wisdom that has been given to him? And where did he get the power to do miracles? 3 He is just the carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters are here with us.” So the people were upset with Jesus.
4 Jesus said to them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his hometown and with his own people and in his own home.” 5 So Jesus was not able to work any miracles there except to heal a few sick people by putting his hands on them. 6 He was amazed at how many people had no faith.
Then Jesus went to other villages in that area and taught.
Sometimes people from your own hometown don’t receive your witness, don’t receive your anointing, your spiritual gifts, your talents, or your accomplishments. And Jesus the Carpenter the Tekton was almost resented for being special. His own hometown was rooting against Him. But the name Tekton goes down in history as a great name of God because any name used to describe Jesus the Christ is a great name. Jesus the Tekton the Carpenter.

29. Migdal Oz Strong Tower
Psalms 61:3 NIV For you have been my refuge ,a strong tower against to foe.
This particular name of God carries a lot of weight because when the time come that you ever need a strong tower you want to be able to call on Migdal Oz . The worse thing in the world to do is to know that the strongest highest tower is available to you and you refuse to run to it to find shelter security and safety. The Psalmist is saying that God is invincible and has an impregnable tower and that the Christian believer ought to have sense enough and wisdom enough to run toward God The Migdal Oz. This is so important because some people let the world system dictate how they are going to live. Listen to me all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh the lust of the eye and the pride of life. And all the devil will offer you is this, He comes but to steal kill and to destroy. But Jesus came that we have Life and Life more abundantly. Migdal Oz from the OT perspective mitigates a formidable proposition . This text teaches talks and tells us to run and hide in the strong tower of the Migdal Oz Because in ancient bible days the cities were fortified cities. In every fortified city there were at least one strong tower. In these strong towers were small doorways leading to staircases that twisted up toward the top. At strategic point within the strong tower there were armed guard who were ready to engage the enemy. Sometimes with swords sometimes with arrows and sometimes with hot burning oil unexpectedly. And that why II do drills in my home for security purposes. I turn off all the lights and know every corner and every secret point of attack to protect my family. And that’s what God does here the Migdal Oz provides the strong tower so that your enemies can not break through the impregnable force field that God has place around you and your family. God is a strong tower And God’s heart if I may say so is designed to protect His children. and our hearts were created to rely on God’s protection David’s prayer was for protection and refuge and my prayer today is Lord God Jehovah Adonai the Migdal Oz our strong tower give us courage and boldness to be able to run to you first before trying the world system. because in times like these we need Migdal Oz our strong tower. Amen.
30 . Jehovah GO’El The Redeeming God Isaiah 49:26 “And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; And they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: And all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour And thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.”
Jehovah GO’El the Redeeming God. I’m so glad I’ve got a Redeemer Jehovah Go’El because if the Lord hadn’t touched me and turned me around I wouldn’t be able to help nobody else. Psalms 107: 2  Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
The Holy Bible: King James Version. (2009). (Electronic Edition of the 1900 Authorized Version., Ps 107:2). Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc.
31. Emmanuel is The next name of God Matthew 1:23 “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Emmanuel in the Greek vernacular is the word that denotes and depicts another name for Christ meaning God with Us. I’m so glad that in 2021 Emmanuel is with us because things are out of control around the world, in our country and in our state in our cities and in our parishes and we need Emmanuel. We need God with us.
In this biblical narrative we find that Mary mother of God is pregnant with a child from the Holy Ghost ( Hagios Pnuema) and Joseph is about fed up with the story that Mary has not been with another man.. And by right so, he ought to feel some kind of way about a situation like that. And the Lord steps in and speaks to Joseph. Joseph that baby that Mary of going to have is a baby conceived by the Holy Ghost, don’t you divorce her!!!, but instead you name the child Jesus which also means Emmanuel God with us. Joseph this has been prophesied by Isaiah over 700 years ago. Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, And shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah been knew that the Messiah was coming. In fact most of the prophets knew that the Messiah was coming. Abraham knew Isaac knew Jacob knew that Emmanuel was coming. Moses knew David knew Solomon knew Isaiah Jeremiah Ezekiel Daniel Hosea Joel Amos Obadiah Nahum Habakkuk ..... They all knew!!! That Emmanuel God with Us the Messiah was coming. This description of Jesus is paramount to our Christian Faith. If you don’t believe the series of events surrounding the precious birth of Jesus then you’re not truly wholly a Christian. Listen to me there are at least three things a Christian believes:
1. The birth of Jesus
2. The death burial and resurrection of Jesus.
3. The Jesus ascending to heaven and now sits on the right hand of throne of God. I don’t car how much philosophy psychology sociology, Science and any other that try to disprove the existence of God in three persons. The Father The Very Son Jesus Emmanuel, and The Holy Ghost. As sure as I born I believe that Jesus is Emmanuel God with us. If you believe that Jesus died for our sins then likewise we ought to believe that Jesus was born to die for our sins therefore becoming Emmanuel Meaning God with us. if Jesus didn’t take on human form our salvation would not be possible.
32. The Everlasting Father. Isaiah 9:6
Isaiah 9:6 KJV 1900
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Everlasting Father 3x As a child I remember getting goose bumps just saying Everlasting Father. And now that I’m grown I still get goose bumps when I say Everlasting Father. God is eternal and that’s why I can believe in Him, that’s why I can rely on Him, that’s why I can trust Him. that’s why I can lean and depend on Jesus. Jesus is Everlasting. Revelation 1:8 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Then Luke 1:33 “And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”
God cares about His children. And when you know your place with the Creator when you know your place with the ancient of Day whenyou know your place with the Eternal Father whenyou know your place with Emmanuel whenyou Know your place with The Everlasting Father then you know that God is concerned about everything that happens in my life.
Mark 9:42 “And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.”
Then in Luke 10:21 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. Jesus is The Everlasting Father and He is concerned about everything pertaining to our lives. Did you know the Jesus will reveal stuff to His children that other will try to know but the Spirit of the Living God allows you to know stuff that others are not privy to.
33. Then there is the name Jesus Matthew 1:21 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Again Joseph was in a disarray about marrying Mary being big and pregnant But God said name Him Jesus because His name means “Salvation” This is very important because there is no other name under the heaven whereby men must be saved except the name of Jesus. Jesus 3x is the anglicized form of the Latin Iesu , which then was derived from the Greek Iesous The Greek form cam from the Aramaic name Yeshua then yeshua in the Hebrew vernacular is Yehoshua which is another name for God which means One who came to save His people from their sins.
And everywhere in the bible it talks about Jesus
When I talk about Jesus I get so excited inside. because
in Genesis he’s the seed of the woman
In Exodus He’s the Passover Lamb.
In Leviticus He’s the High Priest
In Deuteronomy He’s the True prophet
In Numbers He’s the Skekinah Glory
In Joshua He’s the Conquering Yeshua
In Judges He’s the Delivering Judge
In Ruth He’s our Kinsman Redeemer
In Samuel Chronicles and Kings He’s the Promised King.
In Ezra and Nehemiah He’s our Restorer
In Job He’s our Redeemer
In Psalms He’s our Book of Songs
In Proverbs He’s our Wisdom
In Ecclesiastes He’s the Lover of our Souls.
In Isaiah He’s the Bridegroom
In Jeremiah He’s Fire shut up in our bones.
In Ezekiel He’s the Wheel in the middle of the wheel
In Daniel He’s the Fourth Man in the furnace.
In Hosea He’s the True Husbandman.
In Joel He Pours out His Spirit upon all flesh.
In Habakkuk He says to write the vision and make it plain.
In Matthew He’s the King Mark the Servant Like the Son of man but in John He’s the Son of God.
Well I’m sure I’m out of time and we’re still just straching the surface. and the more we study the more God will reveal about Himself to us. We just have to stay faithful.
34. El Elohe Yisrael- God of Israel Genesis 33:20 “And he erected there an altar, and called it El-elohe-Israel.” It was when Jacob came back home and had a reunion with his twin brother Esau. when Jacob arrived to shechem Jacob built an altar and called it El Elohe Yisrael. This scripture acknowledges 2. things.
It distinquished Israel’s God from all other gods. Jacob realized that he had to identify with The One True God even further than the fact of his parents knew God but now Jacob is saying Now I know God, the God of Israel the El Elohe Yisrael. And in modern times and terms this teaches talks and tells us that we’ve got to know God for ourselves.
This name El Elohe Yisrael Identified God as the Gods of relationship. God is not just the Creator of the universe or the God of humanity, but more than that God is deeply personal. God knows each one of us by name. God is the God of an individual, Jacob or put your name there Allen, Banks, Collins, etc.
My defense is that El Elohe Yisrael is my personal God. He’s not just the God of the bible but He’s personally my savior. He’s personally my burden bearer my heavy load sharer personally my provider my protector, and my all and all.
35. El Tsuri - The ROCK Deuteronomy 32:4  He is the Rock, his work is perfect:
For all his ways are judgment:
A God of truth and without iniquity,
Just and right is he.The song has four major divisions: the character of God (Deut. 32:1–4); the kindness of God to His people (vv. 5–14); the faithfulness of God to chasten His people (vv. 15–25); and the vengeance of God against His adversaries (vv. 26–43). The song traces God’s dealings with Israel and is a concise review of the nation’s history, from their wilderness sojourn to the judgments in the end times. It has both historic and prophetic aspects.
The character of God (vv. 1–4). Moses did the speaking, although Joshua was with him (vv. 44–45, NIV), and he opened the song with two interesting images: a courtroom (v. 1) and a rain shower (v. 2). He called heaven and earth to bear witness to his words (30:19; 31:28), for the song would indict Israel for turning away from their God and breaking the covenant. This was the most serious offense the people could commit. Everything in creation obeys the Lord except His own people! (See Pss. 119:89–91; 148:5–9; Isa. 1:1–3.) But Moses didn’t call for a storm; he gave his message as a quiet shower, trusting that the Word would soften the hard soil and produce fruit in the hearts of the people (Isa. 55:10–11). “Speaking the truth in love” (Eph. 4:15) is the best way to proclaim God’s Word.
Learning the character of God should be our major concern in the school of life, and Moses was a star pupil (Ex. 33:12–34:9; Ps. 90). To the Jew, the name of the Lord was “Jehovah,” the name God revealed to Moses at the burning bush (Ex. 3:13–15). Moses didn’t proclaim his own name, for he was a humble man (Num. 12:3); his desire was to honor the name of the Lord. The other “Song of Moses” (Ex. 15) also magnifies the attributes of God. In two brief verses, Moses ascribes to the Lord perfection, greatness, justice, truth, faithfulness, and righteousness, and he describes Him as the ROCK in Deut,32:4 God is the ROCK He is El Tsuri
Wiersbe, W. tells us that this portion of scripture is really a song that God makes Moses and Joshua learn and teach the priest who in turn teach the congregation. And when we think about Israel pass, we find that they were always skipping out on God. they were always going after false gods and idols. No matter how good God has been too Israel, Israel always found a way to be disobedient and unfaithful. And in modern times I hate to say it so vividly but we too find every occasion to be far from God.
36. El- Chai - The Living God Psalm 42:2
1  As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
So panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2  My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God:
When shall I come and appear before God?
3  My tears have been my meat day and night,
While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4  When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me:
For I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5  Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me?
Hope thou in God: for I shall yet kpraise him
For the help of his countenance.
6  O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee
From the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7  Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts:
All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
8  Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night his song shall be with me,
And my prayer unto the God of my life.
9  I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me?
Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
10  As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me;
While they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? 11  Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me?
Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him,
Who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
37. El Deah -The God of Knowledge
I Samuel 2:3
1. And Hannah prayed, and said,
My heart rejoiceth in the LORD,
Mine horn is exalted in the LORD:
My mouth is enlarged over mine enemies;
Because I rejoice in thy salvation.
2  There is none holy as the LORD:
For there is none beside thee:
Neither is there any rock like our God.
3  Talk no more so exceeding proudly;
Let not arrogancy come out of your mouth:
For the LORD is a God of knowledge,
And by him actions are weighed
This is the unique story of Hannah’s pain. Hannah was barren and peniah had child after child for Elkanah Every year Elkanah would take his two wives and children to the temple and Eli was the priest. peniah would tease Hannah and Hannah would pray and pray in the temple and One day Eli saw Hannah praying and he thought she had been drinking . early in the morning. And Hannah said no my lord I’m praying because I want God to answer my prayer. And if God answers my prayer I’m going to lend him to the Lord. He will stay here at the temple for the service of the Lord. And Eli said daughter you prayers will be answered.
God granted Hannah a male child and she called him Samuel. Samuel went on to become a great prophet in Israel.
And here is what Hannah said afterwards in 1 Samuel 1: 27 For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: 28 Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.
2:1 And Hannah prayed, and said,
My heart rejoiceth in the LORD,
Mine horn is exalted in the LORD:
My mouth is enlarged over mine enemies;
Because I rejoice in thy salvation.
2  There is none holy as the LORD:
For there is none beside thee:
Neither is there any rock like our God.
3  Talk no more so exceeding proudly;
Let not arrogancy come out of your mouth:
For the LORD is a God of knowledge,
And by him actions are weighed. This portion of scripture teaches talks and tell us about the Omniscience of God. Meaning God knows everything about anything that able to be known that’s knowable. So in modern times If God knows everything then why do we keep looking to other entities for answers to fix our lives. God has the real answers God has the right answers. And our arrogance toward allowing other philosophies and psychologies and sociological concepts views and shape our ideologies is what angers God with our behavior. El Deah the God of Knowledge.
