Deathbed confessions
John 12:42 NASB95
Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue;

To Confess Jesus We Must Know Who We Are

John knew he was a forerunner 1:27

we must know that we are his priest/children are to proclaim his excellencies

To Confess Jesus We Must Be Active In Our Proclamation of Him

John was not a silent confessor.

true confession demands confrontation
false beliefs/doctrines must be revealed

John was willing to proclaim Him by faithful service

Baptism is a proclamation of Jesus 1:31
Preaching is another way of proclaiming Jesus 1:34
