Healing the first Leper

The man doesn’t understand what he is asking for

Jesus gives in this first healing more than what the man asks and more than what he deserves

the tradition of sin and the priests

crowds gathering and Jesus retreating

Healing the Paralytic

As he is teaching in someone’s house

a group of friends with faith that Jesus is who he says he is

He does not immediately heal this man like the one before

He forgives the sin and then shows his power at the challenge of the Pharisees

In their minds this proves the event but more than that, it changes what sin looks like

Calling Levi

After this

Jesus goes to Levi, an ironically named tax collector

changes how sin is treated

Application

Jesus came to change the way people understood a relationship with God

Jesus shows the real affects of sin and the way it should be approached
