Before we get into the text at hand this morning, I want to make...
A Point of Clarification
I don’t want us to be confused about glory.
As Christians, we glory in the gospel.
But, we do not receive personal, inherent glory for the gospel.
Meaning, we find joy, hope, satisfaction, and meaning in the gospel...
But, we do not receive glory based on merit in the gospel.
We will be glorified in the consummation.
But, us being glorified is based on our transformation.
We will be transformed into a glorified being...
That God has ordained and accomplished on His own.
We will be glorified in that we will be on display as Trophies of Grace...
Obtained by the merit of Jesus.
The gospel and Christianity is not man being glorified based on merit.
It is God being glorified based on His merit...
And, we benefit from that merit...God’s merit...
And rejoice in His merit & His glory.
