Invocation
Invocation
Friends and family, we are gathered here today before God to celebrate the holy matrimony between Cooper Anderson and Lacey Self. The marriage ceremony is both a solemn and joyous occasion. For it is in this ceremony where two individuals make a vow to each other and, more importantly, before God to blend their dreams, their affections, and their lives. In this way, what was formerly two becomes one. Join me today as we celebrate this union and let us always be an encouragement to them as they make their lives together.
Giving of the Bride
Giving of the Bride
Who gives this woman to be married to this man?
Scripture Reading: Genesis 2:18-25
Scripture Reading: Genesis 2:18-25
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” Now out of the ground the Lord God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him. So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

*Ushers and Seating Guests: When guests arrive, meet them at the door of the church asking if they (the guests) were here for the bride or the groom. The usher will offer his arm to the lady involved. The lady’s husband (or companion) will follow the usher escorting the lady to the appropriate pew. All bride guests will be seated on the left side of the church. All groom guests will be seated on the right side of the church. Exceptions can be made if the congregation is visually asymmetrical. Ushers will seat the guests from pew four on back to the final pew. The first pew is left unused, the parents of the bride or groom sit on the second pew, and the third pew is for grandparents and extended family. Ushers will only escort those who need assistance, not everyone to lessen congestion
**Ushers seating Family Members: Ushers will use the appropriate arm to escort grandmothers and/or mothers. If the usher is escorting for the bride’s side of the church, then the usher uses the left arm. If the usher is escorting for the groom’s side, then the usher would use the right arm.
