Jesus Begins His Ministry By Choosing Four Disciples

Jesus begins his earthly ministry and now has chosen we believe five disciples.

He takes two of John the Baptist’s disciples one unnamed and Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

Then Andrew brings his brother Simon Peter to Jesus who Jesus names “Cephas” (a stone)

Next Jesus finds Phillip and calls him and then Phillip brings Nathanael to Jesus.

Now Nathanael is the one who when Phillip tells him we have found him who Moses and the Prophets wrote about; Jesus of Nazareth

Now Nathanael gives a sarcastic reply: what good thing can come out of Nazareth?

Phillip says come and see. And when he meets Jesus; Jesus says an Israelite of whom there is no guile or deceit. Nathanael asks how do you know me and Jesus answers before Phillip called you I saw you under the fig tree.........Nathanael says to Jesus now I believe you are the son of God-the King of Israel.

What Helped Me Was Some One Called Jesus To The Meeting

It seems odd to say but there are some situations that God chooses not to address.

Some He rejects and some He considers.

Jacob he loved and Essau he hated

Jesus said the Father has hidden the mystery from the wise and prudent and has revealed it to babes.

but what gave me a fighting chance was that someone brought Jesus into my space. So if Jesus is in my space he is near to my circumstances.

Now he may not have concern over my issues because of my life and current faith issues but because someone who is connected to him is in my space as well as Jesus. I may have a chance for some real heal for my issue.

Note the butler in prison with Joseph. It was the Joseph who had the connection with God and in turn interpreted the butler’s dream in having him restored to the kings presence.

Joh 2:1  And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 

Joh 2:2  And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage (Cana was Nathanael’s home town)

Jesus and his disciples were called to the wedding but there was an issue in the wedding celebration that was not a concern for Jesus.

There were some stuff you got delivered out of and from and you know it was nothing that a holy God was even interested in delivering you from or becoming involved with.

But we all have testimonies....of when we were in our sins and flesh and just doing our thing…and some how we were delivered…We even look back and give God the credit for our deliverance....

It Seems Every Where Jesus Shows Up Some One Has A Problem

As we read the Gospels it appears that were Jesus comes; problems and issues show up.

Some one is sick, demon possessed, hungry, dead and need reviving, too much water in the boat....in the house teaching and they tare the roof off with a lame man on a bed.

Now some one has to have the heart of Jesus to move in their behalf when these issues arise.

I want to be in Jesus’ preferred call list; Remember T Mobile had the Fav 5.....

So as unconnected as you were with Christ someone must have invited Jesus into the space.

Joh 2:3  And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 

Someone Get Jesus To Be Concerned About My Problem

Joh 2:4  Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 

Somebody becomes my advocate.....

Joh 2:5  His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

The head man did not know they were ever out of wine

He did not know from which the wine came

Mary had asked Jesus to fix the situation.

Jesus came into our space

We were in sin

We were outcast

God had no relationship with sin

But God....

But God sent Jesus into our space

WE RAN OUT OF WINE AS A MATTER OF FACT WE HAD NO WINE.....

JESUS STEPPED IN ON OUR BEHALF.......

AND TURNED WATER INTO WINE.....HIS BLOOD BECAME THE WINE

HIS BODY BECAME THE SACRIFICE

HE IS OUR PROPITIATION.......

JESUS CAME TO OUR RESCUE.......WE HAD NO WINE...

YOUR CHARGE IS DO WHAT JESUS INSTRUCTS YOU TO DO.....
