What Time Is It? A message for those who are simply struggling with the trials of life, or just to walk in faith. (Remember, the just shall live by faith.)
Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
· Sow to yourselves in righteousness,
o The Bible says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7. What does it mean to sow but, to plant seeds.
o What is it you are sowing? What kind of seeds are you planting?
§ Seeds of immorality
· Of impurity
· Of selfishness
· Of bitterness
· Of unforgiveness
§ Seeds of addiction
· Sin and addictions begin with a thought. Those unclean, ungodly thoughts come from Satan. The Bible says, “And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.” John 13:27. So, we know he can.
· You stop an addiction by not thinking about it. Think on whatsoever things are True, Honest, Just, Pure, Lovely, and of a good report.
§ Anything good?
o Unrighteous seeds lead to an unrighteous life, AND Righteous seeds lead to a righteous life.
Hosea isn’t saying Don’t Sow Unrighteousness. He is telling us to Sow Righteousness! Lets make sure that we are more focus on doing that which is RIGHT more so than not doing that which is NOT RIGHT. “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” Proverbs 23:7.
“Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.” Romans 6:13.
What is righteousness – The quality, state and characteristic of being right. (Not being right in an argument, but living is a right manner. Right with who? Right with God. Jesus Christ is the Righteous One. “And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:” 1 John 2:1.
o Plant the seeds of Truth – Jesus said, I am the truth. Get busy planting Jesus in your life.
§ I need more Jesus.
§ I need to go to the filling station – Church.
§ I must read my Bible everyday – planting seeds of righteousness.
Okay, enough on sowing righteousness. If we sow, we should also reap. What is it that we reap?
· reap in mercy;
o His mercies are new each day and they are available to you.
o That which Christ has purchased He will not relinquish. HE loved you enough to die for you while you we a sinner. Will HE not also love you when you fail Him?
o The Bible says that we have the righteousness of God – “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
2 Corinthians 5:21. We have ARE righteous. Our sins don’t make us Unrighteous. (Our sin is not greater than God) Our sinning means our deeds unrighteous. To which the Bible says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9. – REAP IN MERCY!
Okay, what do we need to do?
· break up your fallow ground:
o Fallowed ground = Unsowed; not tilled.
o You need some new ground. It’s time to go to a better place.
§ You must be committed to staying there.
o Change your environment; hang out with different people; develop new relationships
o Go camping. By that I mean, camp out in the Word of God.
o Take the enemy off the throne and put him on a stool (you can knock him off later). Then place Jesus on the throne that he (the enemy) might be reminded of who you serve and who your King is.
· for it is time to seek the LORD,
o For how long?
· till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
o For He hath made him to be sin who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21. The righteousness of Christ rains down upon us we we profess our belief in Him.
o HE said, seek and YE SHALL FIND!
o Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8. Whosoever will come…
o Is God a liar? No! Then seek until…
o Paul said in Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
What if judgment is about to fall on America the way if fell on Israel, are we ready for that or would we rather have the Righteousness of God fall upon us?
Everyone (Christians anyway) say the End Times are upon us. But, if we really believed that would we not, or should we not all the more be seeking GOD?
What time is it in your life? To live, to die, to serve, to fulfill the lust of the flesh? OR, is it time to seek the Lord?
