Purpose:
To announce his plans to visit the Christians in Rome, and to enlist support in his mission (Romans 15:24, 28-29)
To teach the fundamental doctrine of salvation in order to fortify them against the Judaizers (Romans 1-8)
To explain the unbelief of Israel and vindicate God's faithfulness in his dealings with that nation (Romans 9-11)
To give practical instruction in Christian living (Romans 12-16)
Christ in Romans:
Paul presents Jesus Christ as the Second Adam whose righteousness and substitutionary death have provided justification for all who place their faith in Him. He offers His righteousness as a gracious gift to sinful men, having borne God’s condemnation and wrath for their sinfulness. His death and resurrection are the basis for the believer’s redemption, justification, reconciliation, salvation, and glorification.

We understand that the number seven in the Bible is the number for completion and perfection.
Romans is the first of Paul’s 7 churches he writes to. John also wrote 7 churches
The phrase “of God” occurs 985 times in the Bible.
It occurs more times in Romans than any other Bible Book (72 times)
We want to focus on the phrase “of God” which occurs ELEVEN times in Chapter One of Romans.
11 in the Bible is the number for judgment confusion and disorder.
Here we see the eleven things man is most confused over and judgment falls on these things:
