MARKS OF A DYNAMIC CHURCH
WHAT I MEAN BY A DYNAMIC CHURCH
A dynamic church is one that is growing and one that is making a mark.
I mean a church characterized by constant change, activities or progress.
This mean its people are making a mark; "InspirED change and making LIVES better".
One whose members are of one heart, one spirit and one purpose
WAYS TO DEFINE OR IDENTIFY A DYNAMIC CHURCH
There are many things that can define a dynamic church but one way is to show that it is a church dominated by the Holy Ghost.
A church united in one vision and mission through Jesus Christ.
One which is known by LOVE and her charitable works.
One dedicated to studying the word, prayer and fasting every week.
A church hungry for the new move of God, the revival, restoration and conversion of mankind
One that represents the kingdom of God everywhere, in work place, home, industry, business, etc
This church copies the faith of Jesus as in Hebrews 12:2
2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jesus never criticized but will speak at their face to correct them
Jesus was with Mary and other woman but never committed adultery
Jesus was not a liar
Jesus was led, mentored by the Holy Ghost (never spoke, acted unless by the father)
Jesus proved to be a true leader, mentor.
He was not a superior being that we cannot become...made like us, man.
Sons of God of this church stop Creation from lamenting and groaning (Romans 8:22)
22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
Declare and prophetically emphasize this.
Arise sons and daughters of God and take over the land the father has provided for you.
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE HOLY GHOST IN THE CHURCH
When Holy Ghost dominate, His gifts are spread within the church.
HG is responsible for the distribution of these gifts to appointed vessels (not to self proclaimed, or those who are thought as deserving).
You become who Jesus through the Holy Spirit appoints you to be.
Through a spirit led church, the manifold wisdom of God is revealed to mankind.
Ephesians 3:10 (ESV) 10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.
Jesus chose some to become:
Ephesians 4:11-14 NKJV “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,”
Emphasize the importance of the gifts;
I Corinthians 12:1-7 NKJV “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:”
Gifts of the spirit for the edification of the church are (1 Corinthians 12:8-11):
Word of wisdom
Word of knowledge
Faith
Healings
Working of miracles
Prophetic
Discerning of spirits
Different kinds of tongues
Interpretation of tongues
Remind christians of the importance of the gift of prophesy and how not to misuse or exploit it;
I Corinthians 14:1-3 NKJV “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.”
The Holy Spirit empowers people by giving gifts for the edification and encouragement of the church.
Where are the gifts of the Spirit today...?
How can we receive these gifts?
Have a great Desire for the gift, their function and their purpose
Ask in prayer
Consecrating ourselves to prayer and fasting always
Renewing our minds
training ourselves in waiting upon the Lord daily
above all, aligning with the need of the kingdom of God relevant NOW...
