English Standard Version Chapter 11

11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation.

1. Everyone has faith

how confident are you that God exists?

73% dark energy. 23% dark matter. 4% matter (planets, stars, meteors, etc)

No one knows. Everyone is placing their faith. So what is faith.

- Faith is a choice. Belief and faith are different. Faith is action.

- The opposite of faith is not doubt. It is certainty.

2. Not everyone believes in God - But EVERYONE has faith in God.

Everyone lives as if God exists.

Meaning- If no God- 100 years, this doesn’t matter. If that is the case, then today doesn’t matter. We have something that says this does matter.

Purpose- Throwing kid- You don’t choose your purpose. You discover it.- it already exists

Love- love is more than chemical reactions. No one lives as if you are just having chemical reactions. It

Right and Wrong. No one lives as if right and wrong are subjective. No one lives as if no actions are always wrong.

3. When you struggle with doubt, anchor yourself in truth. God exists. He loves you. He gives you purpose. He wants you to do right.
