Prayer for 20 Under 40 Banquet

Jesus, leadership is hard to define. And these days, perhaps as much or more than anytime

in my lifetime, leadership is just hard. Let us define leadership by your example and through your eternal presence. Leadership is not about watching and correcting. Let us remember it is about listening and connecting. Leadership is not only telling people what to do. Jesus, let us find out what people want. Guide us into Leadership which is less about the love of power, and more about the power of love.

Jesus, you have given us your Holy Spirit…and as the great leader and prophet

Allen Hood said recently, having the Holy Spirit is the best leadership advantage in the universe.

In these difficult days, may your Spirit overflow in us! Thank you for these leaders we honor today, and

all those who’ve shared this honor in the past. Continue to raise up leaders to transform this world toward your likeness!

Jesus, so much of your ministry was accompanied by fellowship around a meal, something we are about to enjoy.

We bless this food and this fellowship to the nourishment of our bodies, yes, but even more to the nourishment of our souls.

In your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen!
