They are for us to take a moment and remember.

What are the two rituals/ceremonies we do to show our conversion/belief in Jesus?

In the same way we have holidays, these ceremonies help us to remember who we are and what He has done for us.

Baptism in Water

I got baptised on my 13th birthday. It was something I had always wanted, but at the end of day I didn’t feel any different.

Acts 8:35–38 ESV

Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! When John the Baptist baptises people in water, he is using as a way to remind the people of Israel of all the times in the OT that YHWH had saved them by them passing through water.

Exodus 12:3 ESV

Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household.

Jesus became the lamb we needed for death to pass over us.

My friend ate the bread and got sick. We were all fearful for our lives!
