Organic Revival

Acts 2:40–47 NKJV
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
Acts 4:32–37 NKJV
Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

The Need for REVIVAL

Our nation needs revival.
Our nation will experience revival when the church in America experiences revival.
The church in America will experience revival when local churches experience revival.
Local churches will experience revival when the people in churches experience revival.
Do the people in our church need revival? Do YOU need revival?

The Revival that we NEED

We don’t need make up on a dead corpse. We need resurrection power.
We don’t need strange fire. We need holy fire.
We don’t need water from a man-made cistern. We need a water from the rivers of living water.
We don’t need a Holy Ghost “party”. We need a Holy Ghost “encounter”.
We don’t need a man-sent revival. We need a heaven-sent revival.
We don’t need a man-controlled revival. We need a God-controlled revival.
We don’t need a superficial revival. We need a supernatural revival.
We don’t need a hyped revival. We need a holy revival.
We don’t need an organized revival. We need an organic revival.

Organic Revival

People today are consumed with organic foods, organic farms, etc.
“Organic” refers to the production of food with natural plant or animal fertilizer rather than with chemical fertilizers, growth stimulants, antibiotics, or pesticides.
“Organic” also refers to the systematic coordination of parts. We might say the systematic coordination of the members of the body of Christ with the Head, Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Many believe revival will come if we discover and implement the right “method”.
Jesus gave the church no “methods”.
Even their relationship with Him was based on His invitation: “Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men”.
Jesus never set up organizational headquarters for His church on earth.
Jesus never established colleges or universities.
Jesus built His Church as they walked in intimacy with Him and obedience to His commands through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said He would build His Church and gave the church the keys of the kingdom.
The First Church was Organic
It was naturally ALIVE with the presence of Christ, the love of Christ, the grace of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit
Organic Revival will NOT come through reproducing revival “methods” of the past. What is important is that we discover the “organic” nature of past revivals and let these organic elements “inspire” an organic revival in our day.
Organic Revival results from:
Returning to the LIFE-SOURCE—an organic relationship with Jesus the “Reviver”.
Practicing the presence of Christ and cooperating with work of the Holy Spirit

Preparing for Organic Revival

“Detox” from the things of this world that make us spiritually weak and sick.
Fasting food is the way to detox the body.
Fasting worldly things is the way to detox the soul.
Ingest the “organic” word of God and the pure water of life.

Response to the Word

Give your heart to Jesus Christ.
Detox your soul from the toxins of this world.
Feed on the organic word of God and drink the pure water of life.
Seek Jesus the Reviver.
Cooperate with the Holy Spirit.
