Today I wan’t to talk to a church who has survived. This message is only to specific and select group of people. I wan’t to talk to day to the survivors.
If you were to survey the room right now, and ask anyone in this sanctuary you would find that we are if nothing else, a group of survivors. We’re Still Here. This past summer we received the report the old Church on 2nd and Lindsay had been mysterious set ablaze. This was not our current place of worship but it was our place. But, the lesson it reminding me was all the same. Because the Church is not the building, we’re still here. (preach)

Resolute Attitude
Resolute Attitude
The ideas of steadfastness and immovability are tricky because we know that Paul isn’t simply speaking about location. The steadfast attitude of the believer is the ability to remain convinced of God’s power in the face of opposition. You can’t change my mind. The song writer said, “you can’t make me doubt Him, I know to much about Him”. We have been of the same mind and convinced all of these 91 years, that Jesus is way of salvation, His Word is true, His Spirit is empowering, His Father is sovereign, and He soon to return. (Preach) (Rosa Parks illustration)
Immovable- Is the ability to remain not just unchanged in your mind but in your actions. This is Paul’s way of saying “do not let anything or anybody cause you to behave in a way that is different than who you are in Jesus.”
Replete with Works
Replete with Works
There is a difference between Church work and works of the Church. We must keep in line.
There ain’t nothing wrong with (list church work), But that is not what the church is called to do. The work of the Church (list the work of the Church).
Rewards in God
Rewards in God
Knowing- He assumes you know already.
In the Lord-If you are not in the Lord it don’t matter. You have got to have your name
I’ve going to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of living.
Rewards in heaven.
Vain-without purpose.
