St. John 10:10

Introduction

It is a shame to be one who has lived 60, 70, and 80 years and the world is no better because you were here. It ought to be your desire to do all that God desires for you to do. I am convinced that it is the plan of God to see us live up to all the potential that He has placed in us. As I pass by graveyards, I wonder sometimes how many people died having never lived up to their true abilities. How many of them lived with great promise but never actualized all of the potential that was in them. People who could have made this world a better place, but who did not apply themselves to their craft and let life and opportunities pass them by. I believe that our motto should be to live full and die empty. So that when we come down to our final hour here, our lives would have really mattered and counted for something.

What Is Your Vision For Your Life?

We must have a plan for our lives as that is the only way that we can hope to accomplish anything. If you don't know where you're going how will you know when you get there? And the good thing about God is that He gives you the time and opportunity to get the job done.

  • Jesus makes the statement, "Are there not twelve hours in the day?"
    1. which means that we have the time to do the work at hand.
    2. but although we have enough time to get it done, we don't have so much that we can waste it.
    3. the good thing is that we have twelve hours in the day, but the sad thing is that all we have is twelve hours.
    4. as long as we operate within the parameters of the alotted time.
  • Which means that we must take charge of our lives and stop floating.
    1. we need to set the direction that we want our lives to go in.
    2. the truth is that life happens everyday, whether we want it to or not, IT MOVES ON WITH OUR PARTICIPATION AND INSPITE OF OUR PROCRASTINATION.
    3. how many people have made the excuse that " I would, but I don't have that time to waste"?
    4. not aware of the fact that the time will take charge of you if you don't take charge of the time.

Glorify God By Living Up To The Potential He Placed In You

Speaking in tongues and shouting is not the only way to glorify God. But do you not know that you can do more than glorify Him with your mouth, you can glorify Him with how you live your life.

  • He desires for us the same that He commanded of Adam, TAKE DOMINION.
    1. Dominion means to establish a domain or to take absolute ownership.
    2. It means to rise up and be all that God has called us to be.
    3. God gets no glory from you being late to work and getting fired.
    4. Be such a good employee that you move up the corporate ladder and glorify God that His child has taken dominion on the job.
    5. Be such a good steward of your money that you can retire with dignity and God will get the glory.
    6. Be such a righteous individual that His glory is spread because it was more than you lip service but that your life brings the glory.
    7. And the world will stop to take notice of the life you live.
    8. And someone will be inclined to be like Jesus and follow you as you follow Christ.
