Intro

James 5:13–15 (ESV)
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Sickness and Death

Too Often my brothers and Sisters you and I will cling to unfulfilled dreams of Healing and Freedom and we will rage a God.
If you really Cared you would free me! If you were truly good you would touch my situation.
WE cherry pick our situations and allow those disappointments to drive us away from God
We selectively recognize our brokenness:
Allow me to elaborate,
You and I will scream at heaven, set me free from cancer, but leave my anxiety there, because I want to control my life.
WE will shout Save my child, while our marriage falls apart.
Heal my stroke, but not my bad eating habits.
Whatever hurts us the most we scream over, we pray over, we run to the altar.
But those other things, we aren’t so quick to pursue healing over. One day when we are dead, God will flip everything.
