“We never move on from Jesus…The church needs to hear the gospel again and again—not just sinners.” ~Marcus Brecheen

Where were we last week?

Waiting before the Lord has 3 main benefits
Engages my heart to learn wait before taking action each day.
Positions me to understand my Father God according to Him, not what the world has to say.
Creates a well spring of JOY to flow over me and through me.
Is. 40.31
Isaiah 40:31 NLT
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
“Spending unrushed time alone with God in His Word releases a fountain of refreshment from the very core of your being.” ~Wayne Cordeiro
God’s Word is our Divine GPS to guide us back to His Way and away from OUR Way.
Prov. 8.17
Proverbs 8:17 KJV 1900
17 I love them that love me; And those that seek me early shall find me.

Intro Thought

Manna was a daily gathering
What was gathered for any additional day—the manna spoiled.
Ex. 16.16-18
Exodus 16:16–18 NLT
16 These are the Lord’s instructions: Each household should gather as much as it needs. Pick up two quarts for each person in your tent.” 17 So the people of Israel did as they were told. Some gathered a lot, some only a little. 18 But when they measured it out, everyone had just enough. Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough. Each family had just what it needed.
1 cor. 10.3-4
1 Corinthians 10:3–4 NLT
3 All of them ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all of them drank the same spiritual water. For they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ.
LIKEWISE...
God’s Word is to be Daily Gathered
bogged down reading through the Bible in a Year
Playing catch up doesn’t work
john 6.32-35
John 6:32–35 NLT
32 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, Moses didn’t give you bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven. 33 The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 34 “Sir,” they said, “give us that bread every day.” 35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
It doesn’t matter what we did last week or last year—faithfully or unfaithfully—we need God’s Daily Bread DAILY!
As Jesus said in the Lord’s Prayer, “Give us this day our weekly bread…”

Key Points:

Write down God’s Word and what God reveals to me about God’s Word
Keep studying the Book
Post God’s Word everywhere
Romans 12.2
Romans 12:2 NLT
2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
-Not dates and times
-Focus on the relationship surrounding the dates and times.

Investigate / Application

WRITE IT DOWN
Hab. 2.2
Habakkuk 2:2 NLT
2 Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.
S. scripture
O. observation
A. application
P. prayer
“So this is why we abandon everything morally impure and all forms of wicked conduct. Instead, with a sensitive spirit we absorb God’s Word, which has been implanted within our nature, for the Word of Life has power to continually deliver us.”
‭‭James (Jacob)‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭TPT‬‬

KEEP STUDYING
Josh. 1.8
Joshua 1:8 NLT
8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
Pre-K, grade school, high school, trade school or college— PLUS…continue education (CEU’s)
LIKEWISE—we need to continue our study of God’s Word. From the Milk of the Word to the Meat of the Word concerning Righteousness.
Heb.5.12
Hebrews 5:12 ESV
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food,
Hebrews‬ ‭6:1-3‬ ‭TPT‬‬
1 “Now is the time for us to progress beyond the basic message of Christ and advance into perfection. The foundation has already been laid for us to build upon: turning away from our dead works to embrace faith in God,
2 teaching about different baptisms, impartation by the laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
3 So with God’s enablement we will move on to deeper truths.”https://bible.com/bible/1849/heb.6.1-3.TPT
To keep studying we need the working of the Holy Spirit cause he is our teacher
John 14.26
John 14:26 NLT
But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
POST POST POST
Deut. 6.6-9
Deuteronomy 6:6–9 NLT
6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
James 1.21

Making it personal

WHAT IS OUR TAKE AWAY?
The Lord’s Prayer is our pattern
Not to pattern your devo after us…
This is a personal “working out your salvation“
Phil.2.12
Philippians 2:12 ESV
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,
