Reading of the word

mark 2:1-5
Mark 2:1–5 NASB95
1 When He had come back to Capernaum several days afterward, it was heard that He was at home. 2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them. 3 And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men. 4 Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying. 5 And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
mark 2:10-11
Mark 2:10–11 NASB95
10 “But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic, 11 “I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet and go home.”
Immediately, I like works like that because it let me know that you can wake up with everything falling apart but at any moment God can turn a situation at one moment, what you cried over, what you been torn up about. Immediately God knows how to shift your life, and immediately, and immediately,
mark 2:12
Mark 2:12 NASB95
12 And he got up and immediately picked up the pallet and went out in the sight of everyone, so that they were all amazed and were glorifying God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this.”

Intro

Can I suggest to you this morning that I believe you must come to terms with the fact that you are embracing faith at its most fundamental level to thrive spiritually. There are specific theological constructions with which you must come to terms to make progress in your spiritual journey with the Lord.
The first and most crucial step in coming to terms with God and accepting his existence is acknowledging that God is a living God.
I want to let somebody know this morning that I serve a living God not a dead God or idol, but a living God who is there for me when in need him. When I am in trouble he’s there to pull me out. When I am down he is there to lift me up.
I don’t server a God that has a picture on the wall.
I don’t server a God that is in-between two candles at a cathedral (ca-the-drill).
See they place Zeus in the ground, he’s still there. They place Hindi in the ground, he’s still there. They place Buddha in a tomb he still there. They place Jesus in the tomb, but on the third day he got up.
I serve a living God, (Bible Prompt) who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. And if you serve the same God, Do me a favor, stand up on your feet, and for the next few seconds give him some praise!
I server a living God, who lives in me, who lives in me, who lives in me, and if he lives in you there should be some resemblance of him in you.

Sermon begin

As I look over verses 1-5 I tell you I see a lot that can be extracted out of the text, but I want hold you long in fact I make a deal with you and get you out of here in about 10 minutes. But before we get into this specific text please allow me to rewind back and give you some context so that you can appreciate the content.
The four gospels that we find in the New Testament, are of course, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The first three of these are usually referred to as the "synoptic gospels," because they look at things in a similar way
And it the passage we are read Jesus is in Capernaum where he has performed many miracle. Feeding the hungry, He healing the sick, raising people from the dead, teaching the word of God. Then Jesus went away to pray meanwhile he tells all the people that he has heal not to tell anyone. While Jesus was gone the people that he heal deliverable disobey him. They could not help but to tell about the goodness of Jesus and what he done from them.
Mark 2:1-3
Mark 2:1–3 NASB95
1 When He had come back to Capernaum several days afterward, it was heard that He was at home. 2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them. 3 And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men.
The first thing that I see in the text is that they were concerned
They cared about his Paralysis. (Per-ra-la-is). Y'all do know what Paralysis is right. According to the Definitions from Oxford Languages, Paralysis in its noun form mean “the loss of the ability to move and sometimes to feel anything in part or most of the body”
And they cared about the fact that he wasn’t moving. They cared about the fact that he has lost his sense of feeling. He had lost his sense of touch. He was out of touch with touch. He was unmoved. He felt stuck. I want to talk to someone this morning that feel that are at a season in their life where they just feel stuck. And its important to realize all paralysis is not physical.
Some people have mental paralysis.
Some people are stuck in a relationship that they can’t get out of because some from the pass.
Some people are stuck thinking about some that they was dealing with when they was 8 9 10 years old.
Some people are still thinking about things that happen with their farther or their mother. They are still rehearsing the things that cause thing pain in the past.
Some people have emotional paralysis.
Every time you see them they are depressed, stressed, discourage.
Some people are going through financial paralysis.
It seems like you just can’t get ahead because you always have debt.
It seem as you can’t get yourself out, because you are stuck.(shout it) paralysis that is.
I love the fact that 4 men cared so much to carry this man to bring him to Jesus.
And see, You need someone that is connected with you, that when you find yourself stuck they will grab you by the hand and get you to the house of God.
I wished I knew more about the 4. The text does not tell is if they family or friend. But what I do know is that the was 4 that wanted more
for this man.
More for this brother,
More for there friend,
More for there co-worker
More for there family
More for somebody
I don’t know about you but I want to be connected to someone that want more for me
To help
To push.
You want to be connected to people that don’t get upset when you go up. You want to be connected to people that will speak life into you.
You want someone that will help you get to your next level and get out your current state of Paralysis.
They Cared (shout it) The bible tells us
Mark 2:3-4
Mark 2:3–4 NASB95
3 And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men. 4 Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying.
Which brings me to my next point, They was creative and determined
These men was not going to allow anything to stop them from getting him to Jesus. They was willing to do whatever it takes, y'all they was all in. But check this out. They had obstacles their way.
I want to let you know this morning that anytime you try to do something for the lord the enemy is aways going to try to slow you down.
But my question to you is are you willing to do whatever it takes to get someone into the kingdom of God?
As true believers I believe that its our fundament duty to go out of the four walls of this build and spread the world of God.
Are you willing to go out and help somebody that sick and in need.
Are you willing to go out and help somebody that don’t look like you look,
that don’t dress like you dress,
that don’t act like you act,
that don’t think like you,
that don’t smell like you.
Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get somebody to Jesus.
Do me a favor, point to your neighbor and them, “I’m all in”.
Back to the text here y’all because I see another point.
Y’all its something about verse 3 that keeps grabbing me, but what I see in the text is a co-operation. The text does not say that there was 1 man, it does not say it was 2 men, it does not say that it was 3 men, but it say that it was 4 men that carried him.
Y’all do know that when more than 1 person is working together its called a co-operation right.
God laid it on me this morning and he told me it’s time for us all to go out and spread the word of God. That it’s time for us to start witnessing and trying to fill this house. God showed me people coming in left and right to the point that we don’t even have room to fit. But in order for it to happen, we’ve got to get to work.
Explain covid and being careful but we do other thing
I understand that covid is real and you have to be careful
but we can go to the game with our mask on. (OO I done mess the whole sermon up).
We go to work around a lot of people.
Our kids are in school around a little of other kids.
We go to social gatherings, and out to eat and everything else
and if we can do that what’s stopping us from going out doing God’s work
But preacher I work mon-fri I be tired
I have tried before but as soon as there hear rock hill they say its to far
The service is too long
And here is the thing, we as church we (known as church folk. That includes us all) have to get out of the habit of making excuses and complaining. You do know that complaining is a sin right
making excuses and complaining
Philippians 2:14
Philippians 2:14 NKJV
14 Do all things without complaining and disputing,
God is saying its time for us to get to work and win some soul and fill this house.
and Y'all this house is for everybody
and y'all we all have our challenges, but we cant make excuses with them. We have to do whatever it takes to get to Jesus
Verse 4 tells us
Mark 2:4–5 NASB95
4 Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying. 5 And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
And I believe I park it right here for a brief moment and give you the title of my sermon. And its called, “When Jesus is in the House”
