Rabbi Yeshua (2) - Matthew 8
Rabbi Yeshua (2) - Matthew 8
Rabbi Yeshua (2) - Greater than Moses!
First we spoke about the immersion of Yeshua or Yeshua coming out of the water (Like Moses Exodus 2:10) so that God would speak out saying… This is My Son in whom I am well pleased (Like Moses was favored Exodus 33:17).
Then we talked about Yeshua being lead by the Ruach (Moses was lead by Spirit (Numbers 17).
Then we spoke about how Yeshua was tempted and overcame to be ministered by angels (Moses overcame much and was ministered to by God Exodus 33:11)
In His descent (Like Moses Descended Exodus 34:29) , Yeshua ministered to the people on the Mountain, the Word of God, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
When Moses Descends from the mountain, he was glowing and people were afraid, because the Word (Exodus 34:30). When Yeshua descended from the mountain, He made Himself known by the Word that came from His mouth saying… “Turn away from your sins, for the kingdom of heave is near.”
Yield yourselves to the Lord, and trust… do not fear. Everyone who here’s these Words and does them builds on a firm foundation. Anyone who doesn’t, I will tell them:
I never knew knew you. Get way from Me, you workers of lawlessness!”
This is the moment where Moses draws the line between those who wanted to continue to worship the calf and those who wanted to turn to the Lord. And this is where Yeshua draws the line between those who believe in Him and those who do not.
Matthew Chpt. 8
Matthew 8:1–4
So we read: “He came down from the Mountain….
And a diseased man comes before Yeshua and says….
“Master If you are willing, You can make me clean.” The unclean man recognized/Believed that Yeshua was the Messiah sent from God, He knew that Yeshua would be able to take away His sins. At this time, Sin was usually the reason a person was unclean, sick, diseased, and etc. So in order for Him to be clean… only God would be able to bring the healing. While the man thought that God had to desire to heal him, Yeshua was more than willing to do so. In fact, Yeshua needed the man to want God just to do the healing, and believe that He would be healed. And that is exactly what was done…. What did the unclean man say?
“Master, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
Submission to let the Lord have His way is first, and believing that the Lord ill accomplish must follow. But there is another thing that man of us are missing… what does Yeshua say to the fellow Jew… Do not say anything, but do exactly as written in the law of Moses to be a testimony to them. Question: What testimony is this? (Read Leviticus 14:2-32 and Matthew 8:4 again and ask the question again… What Testimony is Yeshua wanting the man to show?)
Now we have a Roman Centurion (Matthew 8:5) and this is a crazy one, because we know at that time Rome was in power, and if Yeshua healed this diseased man, the Centurion obviously knew that Yeshua was able to heal his servant who was diseased. What is more important to know is that the Centurion was a man of authority, and here we see him yield to Yeshua. (Matthew 8:6) So Yeshua says, I will come and heal him, and it shows God’s willingness to do as lead by your faith in Him, but more faith is displayed when the Centurion says, “as a man of authority, if I tell someone to do something, they will do it, because I have their lives in my own hand. So you are a man of authority, and I submit to Your Word. Say The Word, and it will be done. (Matthew 8:8-9)
Wow! Wow! Wow! Yeshua, say the Word and it will be done. Why should we not do the same. Yeshua, I believe that You hold all authority, say the Word and it shall be done! And even more, Yeshua doesn’t even get himself dirty… Yeshua literally says…. Go. As you have believed, let it be done for you. It was the working faith of the Centurion that made the miracle happen. Ladies and Gentlemen. Do you believe in the Authority of Ben-Elohim? Do you believe that God can really heal your very situation. If so, He tells you today….
“Go. As you have believed, let it be done for you.”
What the centurion displayed was full faith that whatever Yeshua spoke will take play, and this is something that you must know… Only God can speak and make things come to pass. Only God said Let there be, and there was. Only God can bring life from the dead. And today He says, if you turn to me, nothing will be withheld from you. Turn to me… Repent… yield yourself… believe that I am, and I will in turn come to you as I am!
I AM
As I said before, God was really working with me in asking me the question, “ Who do you say I Am?”. The reason why this is so important is because Yeshua asked this to the person in which God personally made Himself known to him- that is Peter. Yeshua simply touched the hand of Peter’s mother, and she was healed from sickness. You know what’s interesting is that Yeshua didn’t even speak the Word this time… Why was it that Peter’s mom was healed and He didn’t even say a word….
Matthew 8:16
That is because Yeshua was the Living Word! Yeshua spoke whatever needed to be spoken and it was done, and even-so whatever one believed He could do, so Yeshua would do by displaying the Word… He Spoke by Doing.
It is true what is said that… “Actions speak louder than Words” and what Yeshua was speaking was that He was and is the Fulfillment of the Word so that if you believe a do… God would accomplish it. And Peter’s mom began to take care of him, because she knew before her was the promise of God to Abraham, Isaac, and Israel which was and is also her promise and the promise for all who believed in Him.
And this is exactly what began to take place. The relization that Yeshua was as the Torah said came to being when many came to recieve from the one who can heal… Remember they all had to believe in who He is, His authority, yeild to Him, and act by reaching out to Him in Faith. And so we see that as many drew near, they didn’t just draw near because they were in need, rather, they came near as they were afflicted by demons. Did Yeshua full of the Ruach Elohim (Spirit of God) and the Ben-Elohim (Son of God) run away from the demons, did Yeshua flee from the people… No, rather this is what the Scripture says,
“He Forced; Expelled; Cast the demons out in WORD” some versions say in A WORD” however, that only makes what was spoken even more special. The expectation that Yeshua gives is speaking and acting on the Word, because everything was made through Him, but not just that… it is written, “The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” What does it mean to give true light to everyone. Well I do believe that it is the same things as Moses sharing the Spirit to the elders of the community, and speaking to all the community saying… if only you would all prophesy. God wanted to rest His Spirit on His people, but they were not yet willing/ready. Moses was not Yeshua, but this man was pretty cool for a man. Yeshua however, He came and brought forth the Word to deliver people and bring forth the light. Yeshua came to immerse us in the Ruach Ha’Kodesh. And in order to recieve the Ruach Ha’Kodesh, we had to be made pure. So it is through His word and in our repentence that Yeshua hears our cry, has compassion over-us and expells the darkness in order that we might recieve all that He came to give.... Himself. Matthew 8:17
So was fulfilled what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
“He Himself took our sicknesses
and carried away our diseases.”
Conlusion -
God is not just an outerspace thing. God has shown through the Word and His creation that He wants to make Himself know to us. However, are you willing to open yourself to Him. The God of all creation has yielded Himself to you by dying on the tree, but will you yield yourself to Him. The God of all creation wants to show you who He is, but are you willing to let go of your unbelief, step into faith that God can, and allow God to do what He does best?
(Read through Chpt. 9)
After getting into a boat, Yeshua crossed over and came to His own town. Just then, some people brought to Him a paralyzed man lying on a cot. And seeing their faith, Yeshua said to the paralyzed man, “Take courage, son! Your sins are forgiven.”
Then some of the Torah scholars said among themselves, “This fellow blasphemes!”
And knowing their thoughts, Yeshua said, “Why are you entertaining evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But so you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to pardon sins …” Then He tells the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your cot and go home.” And he got up and went home. When the crowd saw it, they were afraid and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
As Yeshua was passing by from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. He said to him, “Follow Me.” And he got up and followed Him.
Now it happened that when Yeshua was reclining at the table in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Yeshua and His disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why does this Teacher of yours eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
But when He heard this, Yeshua said, “Those who are healthy have no need for a doctor, but those who are sick do. Now go and learn what this means: ‘Mercy I desire, and not sacrifice.’ For I didn’t come to call the righteous, but the sinful.”
Then John’s disciples came to Him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”
And Yeshua said to them, “The guests of the bridegroom cannot mourn while the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.
“And no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch pulls away from the garment and a worse tear happens. Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the skins burst, and the wine spills out and the skins are ruined. But they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”
Just as He was saying these things to them, a synagogue leader came and began to bow before Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come lay Your hand on her and she will live.” And Yeshua got up and began to follow him, with His disciples.
Just then a woman, losing blood for twelve years, came from behind and touched the tzitzit of His garment. For she kept saying to herself, “If only I touch His garment, I will be healed.”
But then Yeshua turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” He said, “your faith has made you well.” That very hour the woman was healed.
When Yeshua came into the synagogue leader’s house and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, He said, “Go away, for the girl isn’t dead, but sleeping.” And they began jeering at Him. But when the crowd had been cleared out, He went in and took her hand, and the girl got up. And news of this spread all around that region.
As Yeshua went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Ben-David, have mercy on us!”
When He went into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Yeshua said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
“Yes, Master,” they said to Him.
Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith, let it be done for you.” And their eyes were opened. And Yeshua warned them sternly, “See that no one knows.” But they went out and spread the news about Him all around that region.
As they were going out, a mute man plagued by a demon was brought to Him. After the demon was driven out, the mute man started speaking. The crowds were astounded, saying, “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!” But the Pharisees were saying, “By the prince of demons He drives out demons.”
Now Yeshua was going around all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the Good News of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness. When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest that He may send out workers into His harvest field.”
Let us remember that Yeshua did in Word, and so should we. Let us pray!
