What is The Gospel?

Is is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ?

Are you sure?

Is that what Jesus Christ Himself said was His Gospel?

What does the word “Gospel” mean anyway?

So what was the “Good News” that Jesus brought?

Mark 1:14–15 (NKJV)

14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

At this point in time of Jesus making this announcement, all His audience would’ve had for a “Bible” would have been the Old Testament writings.

So whatever Jesus was bringing forward in regards to “The Gospel of The Kingdom of God”, it would have been rooted in what God had previously revealed in The Old Testament writings of Moses and The Prophets.

So let’s see what God said through them.

Let’s start with Jesus’ ancestor King David because it was to King David that our Creator made a promise to a coming permanent Kingdom
