New Living Translation (Chapter 8)
4 But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went. 5 Philip, for example, went to the city of Samaria and told the people there about the Messiah
At the close of Acts 7, Stephen becomes the first Christian martyr. Before this, the church had experienced persecution through threats, being arrested, and spending some nights in jail. However, now that Stephen was martyred, the level of oppression begins to rise
