12 Now his brothers went to pasture their father’s flock near Shechem. 13 And Israel said to Joseph, “Are not your brothers pasturing the flock at Shechem? Come, I will send you to them.” And he said to him, “Here I am.” 14 So he said to him, “Go now, see if it is well with your brothers and with the flock, and bring me word.” So he sent him from the Valley of Hebron, and he came to Shechem. 15 And a man found him wandering in the fields. And the man asked him, “What are you seeking?” 16 “I am seeking my brothers,” he said. “Tell me, please, where they are pasturing the flock.” 17 And the man said, “They have gone away, for I heard them say, ‘Let us go to Dothan.’ ” So Joseph went after his brothers and found them at Dothan.

18 They saw him from afar, and before he came near to them they conspired against him to kill him. 19 They said to one another, “Here comes this dreamer. 20 Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits. Then we will say that a fierce animal has devoured him, and we will see what will become of his dreams

God is an intentional God. He is so intentional that he has predisposed every detail of our lives. Most of the confusion that we deal with is we don’t recognise that all of the great experiences that we have experienced in our life, God had providential, planning power through out every part of it.
the first date - he was in it
the wedding- he was in it
the engagement- he was in it
the wedding- he was in it
the marriage- yep he designed
It should bring you great joy to know that God is engaged on every part of your life , but what I would like to bring forth to your consideration is even in in the break up- he was there , the divorce -he was there. It gives me great comfort to know that God is not only the God of the “come up” but he is the God of the “slip up”

“An unintentional life accepts everything and does nothing. An intentional life embraces only the things that will add to the mission of significance.” John C Maxwell
IF you understand this you understand ,” if you be completely honest “ you will say it wasn't just the good things that added significance to your life , you found significance when after the most hurtful things in your life,
You didn't find significance because of the good things that have happened in your life,
many times the good things that happen in your life that result in significance, is a result of the things that you have overcome. in laymen's terms the sunshine comes after the rain.
you found significance because you been through hell and you survived , the yesterday , downtown people who have been affected by Breast cancer participated in a walk celebrating victory.
Many if not all of those people found out how strong they were because of what they were able to overcome,
the divorce developed you
the layoff lifted you
the attack aligned you
the hurt helped you
in other words THE PIT PAID OF. but what i want to bring to the attention of the church … God designed the Pit.

Altered Course

Originally the Brothers were going to feed the sheep in Sechem but God altered the course and put them at the place where the platform of promotion is

Adjusted Character

Joseph was thrown into the pit by his brothers that hated him the text says that all of his brothers hated him because of the fathers love for him, hate opened them up to jealousy, jealousy opened them up to a murdering Spirit.
Be careful on how you entertain hate. because hate opens gateways to other things that can manifest stuff in your life that you will regret . Hate distorts true perception , Hate will open you up to some gateways and thoughts that will make you do some things that you will always regret.
we have developed someways and habits that we have stepped into that is a simple reflection of hate. Weather somebody did it to you or weather you did it to yourself hate its hate
Josephs brothers conspired to kill him when they saw him coming, no brother was left out when the text is recalling the meeting to murder their brother, which suggest to us that all of them were there. but verse 21 was very interesting
Reuben heard it, he rescued him out of their hands, saying, “Let us not take his life.” 22 And Reuben said to them, “Shed no blood; throw him into this pit here in the wilderness, but do not lay a hand on him”—that he might rescue him out of their hand to restore him to his father
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (Ge 37:21–22). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
God has a way of placing the folk in the meeting against you to be the voice of favor when you have no idea whats being plotted up against you. dont miss this no where in the text does it say that Reuben loved Joseph even though his actions were contrary to the cliche
you have got to be able to serve a God that know s how to turn enemies into allies in the beginning stages of your adversity
Im not gone talk to much about Reuben because but we got to remember that Reuben was the oldest Child, which he had first hand view of everything that was going on with the HIs mother and Aunt being married to the same man ,Reuben and the mandrakes.........................
he saw his mothers pain of not being with a man that doesn't love her
by him being the Oldest he was supposed to be the one to receive the birthright.
if anybody had a reason to lead the Charge Reuben did. But God will change the heart of the one who can change the Crowd.
