Matthew 22:37–38 NKJV
Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.
Verse 5 We see the word Therefore once again~

consider the members of your earthly body as dead to

Immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire and greed

which amounts to idolatry.

because it seeks satisfaction in things below and not above

Verse 6
Wrath of God Judgement from a Holy God for sin
Judgement will come upon the sons of disobedience Will come (erchetai)(comes) is present tense in the original language. This suggest that God’s wrath has begun and will culminate in His Future climactic visitation on evil.
Verse 7
Paul reminds them and us that we were once one of the son’s of disobedience!
Verse 8
We are instructed to put this behavior aside....

wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.

Verse 9
Don’t lie to each other, since you laid aside the old man with it’s evil practises
Verse 10
Because you have put on the new self.
