Jesus walks on the Water
Matthew 14:22–31 NLT
22 Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. 23 After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. 24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. 25 About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” 27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” 28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” 29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. 31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”

Straight into the word
Matthew 14:22–31
1. Hearing Gods voice
- let us be a generation that hears God word and follows.
o Be hearers and doers
James 1:22 NLT
22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
o Still small voice
1 Kings 19:12 NLT
12 And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper.
- Let us be a people that tunes their ears to his voice of Jesus
- Let us be a people that is bold to stand up and follow God’s leading
You know I’m reminded extreme obedience story from extreme
When fear and doubt comes
2. Take Courage
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
- I love how Jesus in that moment said TAKE courage.
o In a moment were fear enter Jesus says to TAKE COURAGE
- When you hear the word TAKE that means Lay hold of (something) with one’s hands: reach for and hold
Psalm 27:14 NLT
14 Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
- We see that in life we need to purpose to take courage when fear and doubt comes
Couple of years back grabbing onto the goats horns share and how I needed take hold of courage in that situation
- GRAB THE HORNS OF THAT TEMPTATION AND TELL IT TO LEAVE
There will come a time when a step of faith is needed
1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
