Everybody is looking for something whether they accept it or not!
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
People Look For Things to Make Them Happy
“Surely there is a mine for silver,
And a place where gold is refined.
Iron is taken from the earth,
And copper is smelted from ore.
Man puts an end to darkness,
And searches every recess
For ore in the darkness and the shadow of death.
He breaks open a shaft away from people;
In places forgotten by feet
They hang far away from men;
They swing to and fro.
As for the earth, from it comes bread,
But underneath it is turned up as by fire;
Its stones are the source of sapphires,
And it contains gold dust.
That path no bird knows,
Nor has the falcon’s eye seen it.
The proud lions have not trodden it,
Nor has the fierce lion passed over it.
He puts his hand on the flint;
He overturns the mountains at the roots.
He cuts out channels in the rocks,
And his eye sees every precious thing.
He dams up the streams from trickling;
What is hidden he brings forth to light.
“But where can wisdom be found?
And where is the place of understanding?
Man does not know its value,
Nor is it found in the land of the living.
The deep says, ‘It is not in me’;
And the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’
Man is looking for happiness but what he needs is God, his wisdom, and salvation.

The man in the field stumbled across a treasure in the field. He was not looking for IT but came upon it and found the value in IT.
Salvation does not come by accident but sometimes we come upon it by accident.
Example: I wanted to marry my wife and wound up in the Church. I was not looking to get into the Church, I was looking to marry my wife. I had to get baptized to marry my wife, but heard a great sermon and found salvation and got baptized for real. I was not seeking but God sought me.
The woman at the well went seeking water but found living water in Jesus!

When We Find IT We Must Make a Transaction to Receive It
And Once We Receive IT we must protect IT!
“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.
