Reclaiming Our Dependence

I have been crucified
My old way of life must die.
Since they were trying to return to a system of law in order to be seen righteous in God’s sight, and to dispel the thought that being in Christ must be a ministry of sin since I still find myself sinning although I’m in Christ, Paul helps to understand that everything that dominated, defined, or controlled before has died!!!
Christ lives in me
My existence depends on the resurrected life of Christ
Paul makes a very huge statement here. The importance of dying is so he can live a life fully devoted to GOD. Here he’s claiming that he’s not the one alive!! That’s how he views the power of Christ’s resurrection over his own life. That means every aspect of his existence, exists because Jesus lives.
I live by faith
My manner of life is fully dependent on the Son of GOD
Lastly, Paul says the life he does live in the flesh, he lives by faith. This is important because he mentions in v 16 that now flesh will be made right before GOD by strictly keeping the system of law. Nothing wrong with the law, it has done its purpose in pointing how deadly I am because of my own sinfulness. Following it to be seen right before GOD is impossible because we’re going to fail some part!! My life is governed by my reliance in the Son of GOD
