The Five Fold Ministry

Ephesians 4:11–16 NKJV

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Lets break down the five fold Ministries

Apostle

The Apostle is the first among the brothers. He is the elder brother. He is the team leader, accountable. He will Firstly cover senior pastors. you saw this last year when I was out of the pulpit. The Apostle can come in and be a grandfather of the faith. He builds apostolic teams for Church planting. He builds teams for encouraging

Prophets

Prophets are not simply for-tellers. that is probably the biggest misconception of the non- churches is that Prophecy is equal to scripture. it is primarily spiritual baptised encouragement. The prophet encourages us, the Holy Spirit, encourages you through another season.

Evangelist

I am going to cover the modern usage and the meaning of the text:

the Modern usages of the word is this, a traveling clergy that encourages and ministers to churches.

The one who works to bring the gospel to lost people plugs them into a church and moves on to the next un-churches people. these are God’s safety net.

Pastors

two parts again:

there is the senior pastor. this is the man that God is going to hold accountable for the church. that what you have seen.

those who are called to preach teach and counsel.

Teachers

people who teach well
