Do you belong to Rabbi Yeshua -
Yeshua Summoned: How many of you love the Lord? I know I do, and because I do I want to know Him more. How many of you love the devil? ooooh! That’s a crazy question that I shouldn’t even ask, because there should be no love for the devil. The honest truth about the devil is that he is the exact opposite of who God is. What’s so important to know now as we read is that now that we have seen God work in our lives, we must now together walk in His authority. Yeshua summoned us before our time for this moment, but what does that mean? Rabbi Yeshua was not just the one with authority, but He also gave authority! As a person of authority, the goal is not for me to keep it for myself, but it is my job in the congregation to get this congregation focused on what God wants to do with you today. Just as Messiah gives Himself for us, so must we give ourselves to all…. And how must we do that? In love! And how do we know love? Know Yeshua! And how do you know Yeshua… Recognize that He is Adonai, Yield to Him, Believe and Know that He is (healer, redeemer, salvation, and etc), and ask Him into your life! Make it known to Him that you want Him to glorify His Name in the midst of this situation.
I love how Yeshua then speaks to His disciples following these miracles that have taken place through Matthew 9. And so we start in Matthew 10 with what it means for us to do the Lord’s work. So we read:
Yeshua summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority… Matthew 10:1
Yeshua tells them what they must do saying… go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and proclaim… “The kingdom of heaven has come near! And
Matthew 10:8 TLV
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with tzara’at, drive out demons. Freely you received, freely give.
What Yeshua is showing His disciples is that they must be like Him! They must realize that they are under the authority of Messiah, the immersion of the Spirit of Adonai, and in full faith that HaShem will do all these things. In order to be in that mindset, they must not desire anything, know that the Lord will lead them to places of peace, that they are His sheep and that the Spirit will give them all that they need. The disciple is to become like his teacher
Matthew 10:24 TLV
“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master.
The disciples must not fear as it says in Matthew 10:26-28
Matthew 10:26–28 TLV
“So do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed and nothing hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear in your ear, proclaim from the housetops! And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
In this you must remember that God Himself is bringing down His vengeance. While God did not come to condemn, He came to save it. And in order to save, He is not gonna bring the world peace every kingdom under heaven desires . No, God is going to bring His restoration which means that He will separate holy and not holy, and He will forever remove what is not holy so that only what is holy would remain (this is why Havdalah is so important). Only then peace would be take place. In Havdalah, we take the essence of Shabbat in order to have a blessed week. We start with recognition of God’s goodness and end with God’s Sancification so that we would begin the week again in recognition of God’s goodness. It shows us that we are alway in need of His Refreshing.
John 4:10,13-14
John 4:13–14 TLV
Yeshua replied to her, “Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again. But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never be thirsty. The water that I give him will become a fountain of water within him, springing up to eternal life!”
“If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” “Everyone who drinks from this water (physical well) will get thirsty again. 14But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never be thirsty. The water that I give him will become a fountain of water within him, springing up to eternal life!”
Again, Do not fear, but know that God has the power and will act, Acknowledge Him, His Work in all your ways, and He will make your path straight. If you have no acknowledgement of His mighty hand, that is just as good as denying. I gave the example last week of a couple being together with one’s friends. If my dad was with friends that my mother did not know, I am very sure that my mom would want to be introduced to these friends. If there is no introduction then there is no acknowledgment of their relationship before them - though clearly it can be seen that they are together. It simply is not pleasing to be by the one you care about, and to be forgotten. Yeshua is clarifying to His disciples and to us that…. ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near! That the One standing before you is The Messiah of Yisrael, and to those that receive Him also receives the HaShem. Yet, if you love one more than Yeshua, Yeshua is clear… Matthew 10:37-40
Matthew 10:37–40 TLV
“He who loves father or mother more than Me isn’t worthy of Me, and he who loves son or daughter more than Me isn’t worthy of Me. And whoever does not take up his cross and follow after Me isn’t worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives the One who sent Me.
So you must ask yourself know… Do you know who He is is? Ask, Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” John the immerser asked this in Matthew 11:2
Matthew 11:2 TLV
Now when John heard in prison about the works of the Messiah, he sent word through his disciples
And Yeshua Replied Matthew 11:4
Matthew 11:4 TLV
Yeshua replied, “Go report to John what you hear and see:
“Go report to John what you hear and see: 5the blind see and the lame walk, those with tzara’at are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised and the poor have good news proclaimed to them. 6Blessed is the one who is not led to stumble because of Me.”
Following this Word, Yeshua tells the others what they were saying about them… Today, I hear the community of Messiah saying the same thing… “know your enemy” can I ask you something…. Where in the Bible does it say, know your enemy? On the contrary, what the Bible says is… know God… the Bible says don’t believe every spirit, but test them… Test them with what? Test them with what God has given to you - His Word. Knowing God is how you are able to discern what is good and bad. Knowing your enemy has desensitized the body of Messiah so much!
KNOWING YOUR ENEMY IS NOT IN THE WORD OF GOD! We must remember that only God knows the heart and thoughts of every living being and spirit. Do not know them… abstain from them. Turn to God - repent. Acknowledge what God can do. Do not acknowledge what the enemy can do…. he’s a liar and can’t do anything good. But God…. Now I know what my God can do and He will do as to glorify His Name.
Knowing your enemy gives them a power that doesn’t belong to them. If God tells you the enemy comes to kill steal and destroy then the enemy is already known by God, and if you submit to God to know Him, you will know that the enemy can’t do anything to you who are in Messiah Yeshua. Rather, remember that I can do, we all can do all things through Messiah…. This is because I just as you know that Yeshua can.
Stop focusing on what the enemy can do, but focus on what God can do. Stop believing that that the devil can do this, and start believing that God can do. Then I read what Yeshua says in Matt. 11:25-30
Matthew 11:25–30 TLV
At that time Yeshua said in response, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and discerning and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was pleasing to You. “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and ‘you will find rest for your souls.’ For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
25At that time Yeshua said in response, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and discerning and revealed them to infants. 26Yes, Father, for this way was pleasing to You.
27“All things have been handed over to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. 28Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and ‘you will find rest for your souls.’ 30For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Haven’t you read in the Torah?
Didn’t you read about the Lord? Do you know His might Hand?
Do you know who is I am?
Yeshua speaks to those going against Him that King David entered the House of God and ate the showbread which was only for the priests, and that the priests even broke the shabbat working in the Temple. Yet, the Lord sees them innocent, and Yeshua says… If you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you wouldn’t have condemned the innocent. 8For the Son of Man is Lord of Shabbat.” Now this does not mean that Yeshua is going to go around Israel breaking the shabbat, no, Yeshua came to show that when you know God, you would know that He came to bring forth the fullness of His rest/His Shabbat!
Matthew 12:9–14 TLV
Leaving from there, He went into their synagogue. A man with a withered hand was there. And so that they might accuse Him, they questioned Yeshua, saying, “Is it permitted to heal on Shabbat?” He said to them, “What man among you will not grab his sheep and lift it out, if it falls into a pit on Shabbat? How much more valuable then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is permitted to do good on Shabbat.” Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out and it was restored, as healthy as the other. But the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.
We must remember that man was not made for the Shabbat, rather, Shabbat was made for man. It basically also shows us that the Torah was made for our good, and it shows us that we are not made in order to decided what the Torah means for us. No, it was made for us to know that God loves us, God wants to bless us with good things, and most importantly, He wants bring us to freedom - to bring us to Himself. So Yeshua goes to do exactly what God wants us to do… To bring the Shabbat to the people. What does it mean to bring Shabbat to the people. Bringing Shabbat is simply bringing the rest of Adonai to them. Shabbat is when the Lord looks at His creation and says, it is very good! Shabbat is the fullness of His Sanctification as it reflects that He has completed and so we are made complete. This is what I am wanting to do with you all on Sunday… to bring Yeshua to them; to tell them that God has made them complete. Now I know what it means when it is written:
18“Here is My servant whom I chose,
the One I love, in whom My soul takes
delight.
I will put My Ruach upon Him,
and He shall proclaim justice to the
nations.
19He will not quarrel or cry out,
nor will anyone hear His voice in the
streets.
20A crushed reed He will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff
out,
until He brings forth justice to victory.
21And in His name the nations shall
hope.” - Matthew 12:18-21
Following those words, Yeshua made a blind and mute man to Yeshua, and God healed him, and the people there questioned… “This can’t be Ben-David, can it?”
So today, people will ask… are you a consistently active believer in Yeshua the Messiah. Being an active believer in Messiah means that you are solely focused on what Messiah can do and will do. It’s interesting that people forget to see that.
As the community of Messiah, we are not going to see what the enemy is doing, we go to see God glorify Himself amongst us, His people, and as well what God said He would do with the children of Israel. We are no going out there to say… they are possessed… for that is to give power to the enemy… No we are there to say, Yeshua (Jesus) has come so that you would know that you are free! It is proclaiming what was said…. “THE KINGDOM OF GOD HAS COME NEAR!
Matthew 12:25–30 TLV
Knowing their thoughts, Yeshua said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is destroyed, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. If satan drives out satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by beelzebul, by whom do your sons drive them out? For this reason, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the Ruach Elohim, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and carry off his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he will thoroughly plunder his house. He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
You who are here today are the representation of the kingdom of God, and you who are here today are called to bring forth the testimony of who God is! It is by the Word of Your testimony that we have overcome, and it is because Yeshua came to save that they might be saved now. So as Paul said, you once were, so today they might also at one time be (in the darkness), but now, today, and forevermore be in His light! So I reiterate, I read that the scripture says to the love them, but it also says not to do what they do. It says not to be like them. It says flee from evil. It says everything about getting away from evil and running to the next city. That doesn’t mean you are not allowed to pray for them. That doesn’t mean if your enemy passes by you to leave them helpless. NOOO! Give them something to drink. Give them your coat, help them up from the ground, and so forth. It means when they confront you, LET GOD DEAL WITH THEM, and when the are helpless and need God, pray that God shows Himself to them. What Yeshua did was bring justice to victory and so should you. What does this mean? This means that no matter what, I will show them what God has given Me, how God has chosen me, How God has delivered me, and how God wants them to be the same! God wants them to know that He wants them too, and that they are just as chosen for a God given plan. Till today, I want you to be better than I could ever be, and I pray that you can see that God Himself has given you the authority to do more than He was enabled to do on this earth!
But in order to do that, you must know God!
Yeshua makes it clear that even His family is not recognized as the family who has been given rights to the kingdom of heaven. The ones who have the right to the kingdom of heaven are the ones who do the will of the Father. This is what Yeshua is extending to you today…. Do you not know who Yeshua is? Have you not read the Bible? Have you not done what God has called you to do already? I tell you today…. Now is the time, because the kingdom of God has come near to you today to bring justice to victory. But I have to remind you that if you do not believe that Yeshua can do this, then you will not see justice, because what Yeshua did is not just exemplify what it means to be just, but He was and is Faithful and Just….. to forgive us of our iniquity…. So what are you waiting for? GET UP AND GO Knowing that God has given you His Word, and so it has been done.
