Mark 5:1-20

Theme: The Servant’s Power
Key verse: v.1
43 verses; 952 words
Grade level: 4.4
1. Dealing with Devils. vs.1-20
2. Dealing with Disease. vs.21-34
3. Dealing with Death. vs.35-43
If that demon possessed man were alive today, he would be sent off to live in a mental institution. That diseased woman would be sent to terminal care ward. The dead girl would be sent to the cemetery.[1]
As we learned in chapter 4 Jesus is the Master of the deep. Now we learn in chapter 5 He is the Master of the devils, diseased, and death!
Let’s examine the PARTS to what could be your story.

I. The Guided Direction. vs.1-5

Where Jesus came from. v.1
1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
b. Who Jesus was after. v.2
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

He was bound but not with fetters and chains. vs.3-4
3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
He was sleepless. v.5
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

They are rebuked by the Lord. v.8
8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

Where the pig farmers did. v.14
14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

You can reach more than the one who led you to the Lord.
You can reach more than your pastor.
You can but will you?
