Relocation (vs.2)

But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done, 20 Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

John the Baptist is in prison for taking a stand. Sometimes we’ll feel like God has forgotten us. We may be facing troubles, get our mind on the troubles, and off of who is taking care of us.

Riddle (vs.3)

John had two disciples go and ask Jesus if he was really who he said He was.
John baptized Jesus and saw the heavens opened and the Spirit of God descending like a dove on Jesus.
John saw Jesus and said....

Behold the Lamb of God, which ||taketh away the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

The Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him who he was. John said, “I am not the Christ.” They asked him why he’s baptizing people and he said...

I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; 27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

You know who Jesus is and what He’s done. Maybe you’re wondering though if He is still who He says He is. John was in the same boat as Asaph in Psalms 77.

I cried unto God with my voice,

Even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

2  In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord:

My sore ran in the night, and ceased not:

My soul refused to be comforted.

3  I remembered God, and was troubled:

I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

4  Thou holdest mine eyes waking:

I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

5  I have considered the days of old,

The years of ancient times.

6  I call to remembrance my song in the night:

I commune with mine own heart:

And my spirit made diligent search.

7  Will the Lord cast off for ever?

And will he be favourable no more?

8  Is his mercy clean gone for ever?

Doth his promise fail for evermore?

9  Hath God forgotten to be gracious?

Hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

Repeating (vs.4-5)

Jesus told the disciples, “GO AND SHEW JOHN AGAIN.” Here’s what Asaph said he would do.

And I said, This is my infirmity:

But I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

11  I will remember the works of the LORD:

Surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

12  I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

Jesus told them to tell John (verse 5)
You may be down and feel like God doesn’t care for you. It may seem like God isn’t doing anything in your life. It may seem like God may be lying to you. You may wonder if what you’re doing even matters. You may wonder if leaning on Jesus and calling out to Him will make a difference. JESUS IS STILL JESUS AND THERE IS NO NEED TO DOUBT HIM IN YOUR DILEMMA.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor tpowers, nor things wpresent, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
