Transformation - God Changes Us - 2Cor.3:1-18
Transformation - God Changes Us - 2Cor.3:1-18
I. Believers are Evidence of God’s Truth.
Paul’s ministry is open testimony statement of truth.
The spirit written on human hearts, not stone tablets.
II. Spiritual Freedom comes when faith in Christ removes the veil that covers the heart. vs 16 when one turns to the Lord.
Veil was a symbol of the Jews unbelief.
Jesus has replaced the veil.
old covenant replaced by new covenant.
Old covenant was that of the letter.
New covenant is that of the spirit. see John 4:23
But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
Old covenant was death (the law brings judgement.)
New covenant brings eternal life.
Old covenant was temporary
New covenant was permanent
veil removed - prior to lifting veil, the jews minds were hardened Heb.3:15 God’s Glory could not be seen nor could they understand the word because of their failure to believe.
As it is said,
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
Christian Believer’s reveal Christ see 2 Cor. 4:3-4
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
As it is said,
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
Satan (the god of this world) has blinded the minds
of unbelievers who cannot see the light.
III. The Unveiling of Christ in Believers.
Transformed into the Image of Christ 2 Cor. 3:18
Seeing the Glory of the Lord
steps of glory to another. (meaning?)
going up as walking up steps - ascension-ascend to a higher realm.
Those who receive Christ are “reflectors” of Christ.
