The Desire of God

Exodus 19:3–6 NIV
Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said, “This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”
1 Peter 2:9 NIV
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
John 17:3 NIV
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
The heart of God is to know you and I and that you and I might know and worship him. That is it. It is not to make you happy healthy and wealthy. It is to make you and I like God.
WE mistake so many things for God. WE attribute so many desires to God that are not even His. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. That is not even in the Bible.
God helps those who help themselves. No God helps those who abandon all in pursuit of Him.
This entire life is about knowing God and knowing His Son, Jesus! That is what its about. Its not about a successful career. Its not about the perfect family. Its not about close friends. Those things are good and can be forces that drive us closer to God. They can be great testimonies and blessings from God. Ultimately you and I are rescued so that we can know the one who gives life. So that we can worship the Lord of Heaven

The Desire of Men is to be Great

Exodus 19:7–8 NIV
So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all the words the Lord had commanded him to speak. The people all responded together, “We will do everything the Lord has said.” So Moses brought their answer back to the Lord.
Moses returns from the presence of God with this message. You are mine. Come to me and be my treasured possession. A Holy Priesthood.
And the people Roar. WE are In. WE will do everything the Lord Says. WE want to be His.
In the heart of Men and Women is the desire foe meaning and significance. everyone wants meaning and purpose in their lives. Here God is and He says, “You are Mine. Come with me and be my Royal Priests

It’s time we walked into the presence of God

Exodus 20:18–19 NIV
When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance and said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.”

Saddest Testimony you will hear.

Exodus 20:20–21 ESV
Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.” The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.
1 Samuel 8:5–7 NIV
They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.” But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.
