I will make the darkness Light; What is wrong I’ll make it right; Every Battle I will fight; and the High place
When thou walkest by the way; On the fatness of the land; There’s a mansion in the skky
4 “See, aI have apportioned to you these nations which remain as an inheritance for your tribes, with all the nations which I have cut off, from the Jordan even to the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun.
5 “The Lord your God, He will thrust them out from before you and 1adrive them from before you; and byou will possess their land, just as the Lord your God 2promised you.
6 “aBe very firm, then, to keep and do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, so that you may not turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left,

Jeff Besos, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Oprah Winfrey. Statistics tell us that 45% of adults over 18 are single. In 2020, approximately 36.2 million people were living in single-person households in the United States. Statistics tell us that during the average persons life a significant portion of their life will be spent as a single÷typically the first 25 years of life is spent as a single and perhaps for the last 10-15 of their lives. about half their lives in this particular state, In spite of this understanding there can be a stigma placed over the lives of sigles. this many people take a dim view of those who are single: holding up marriage as an ideal.
While the american culture begins to redefine what singlness is - there are still many stigmas that impact the lives of signle adults.
there is a vastness that comes from being single - probably the largest people group to classify he reasons for a person being single can be exceedingly complex.
The Young adult establishing values
The New Professional - who has placed a premium of moving up the corporate ladder that has devoted their time
The recently newly divorces that is dealing and upacking potential years of trauma after hurt
The Never married
the Single Parent who is trying to ensure their children are balance, while trying to come to terms
The recent Widow, who is trying to readjust to a new norm - dont know how to shop for one cook for one or even undersand certain positions.
Our culure continues to inadverntly proplel the ideal, that that no matter what you do, the accoldes that one may make, that there is somthing lackin, missing or incomplete about the person if you are single.
The identifier of being single has sometimes brings the negative connotation of instability, as even many ingle affectes your very credit score, as we hear thatmarriage brings stability. Even within our churches, and community we see that people can be promoted to higherl levels of positions
Amists the backdrop i’ve come to realized that while we as a group are very vast and different - We hear about Politicans wanting to support hard working familes, but never hear hard working singles;
Out of 46 men that held the hightes position in our land only one never married ; The supremen Court has only seen three singles -
We’ve heard that If youre single like me we may have heard some of the following. I don’t want to out to a singles minstry meeting,
Even when it’s an attempt you complient - “I just don’t understand how someone as great as you isn’t married yet.”
Singleness can become you identiity - =“This is Sally, my single friend who owns her own home, drives a luxury sedan, and has a very, very stable job.”
If we can allowe it we it can attempt to marganilize you - and your time - = +3 pointsPeople are constantly volunteering you for things because “you’re single, you’ve got so much free time.” = +
Your best friend of 15 years gets married and then suddenly acts like a magical gap has opened up between you and decides that, until you get married too, you can’t be close again. Because you just don’t understand each other anymore. =
While our needs may appear vast 0 there is a commonality amoungs singles that we can address today. At it’s very core, no one wants to be considered less than or inadequate.
If we all can admit within ourselves, tehre are times situations and circumstances that can have use allo feeling less than and I am about to this thing called live by myself.
Can I live in todays world - when single parents are trying to navigate for their children sometimes they wonder if what the do is enough; Those who have seen the heart of rejection of divorce through any means whonde rif they are enough; Those who have never been
Life is not on pause - God made you completed and whole lacking nothing - THere is work that must be done and completed - God has made
Introduction - Importance of Last words -
Introduction - Importance of Last words -
Our text comes from the Book of Joshua at a very critical time. J
The book of Joshua is indicative of a Fight. The entire theme woven within this chapter could be considered Obedience and Victory -
The entire book of Joshua is a book about VIcory - And if we are going to say that we have victory over a thing, or if we are victorious by he very definition of the word, it is indicative that there is a conflict. There there are at least two different sides that are vying or occuping for control or possession of a thing. , that in it self is an indication that there are two opposition and opposits sides
Joshual at all time understood the assignement - He was he is the one who cam back with a positve Report - who understood that if God Said in he undrestnd that we would be well able co take the land; He faithfully served as Moses’ armor bearer - and was priveldidte to be in proximinted when Moses when to speak with GOd;
HE was a worshipper and a Worrier - and was picked by God to led the his promised Chilredn. who came
joshua is giving this at the end of his life. After Severy successful conquest and dividing the land - Joshua was prepare to speak to the wildneness babies fr the last time.
Last words hold special meaning in our lives—they’re part of one’s legacy, cherished vestiges from precious moments.
; Joshua’s admonition to to Children;
Focus on Where there were at this time. They had gone through wars and began to settle -
Long after the Lord had given them rest - It was a while where Israel had to to feel the comforts of their rest and possessions in Canaana nd to enjoy the advances of that lad -
The Scipture Apathy and compromise. They could get comfortable with this period of rest, and begin to tolerate what they should expel. They could easily become satisfied with what they have already done, but there is more ahead.
If we are not careful - we can settle on just having enough - When ever Primise in the book belongs to us.
Joshua’s Deathdoes not end Israel’s responsibility to occur the land -Ther are some people and things that may have left your life, but the assignement still stands
When we are in a position, or a promised, we have to understand that if God has given it do you, it is not fully realized until we come into full alighment of what
Joshual want to do all that was necessary to ensure that the CHildren of Isreal receive their proces.
God wants you to possess ALL the Land that which he has promised
God wants you to possess ALL the Land that which he has promised
THe words possed - meant to occupy by driving out whomeever or whatever - To expelc - and takes possssion. This had bee new to the children of Israel becuase from the time of the exodus until know, they had watched God supernaturally destroy and mke ways - Of if they engaged in conflict with the enemy it was in retaliation for thire attack - For this season - God has placed them into a possession of offensive .
For some time, the enemy has brough the attack to us, adn we have used are weapons of war to fight against. Dare I say that if we are to position ourselves to propel the Kindgome of God and rescieve ever promised it is time for us to change our position -
Far to long we have negated out position in Christ
God is tellis us that now is the time that we must become an agitator to every unlawful, unauthorizaed Occupant to every promise that God has given.
He is inviting us not to sit back and recieve but to get up and seize what has already been promised
Possession of a land was in direct connetion to thier relationship with the Lord -
Our Victory is conditional
But there is indication that there is more work to do - The nations that remain - Vs. 4, 7, & 12 - looking forward - There are other remaining nails that must be expelled - The intermittence requires work
Jesus Christ has already completed the work, assuring us guaranteed victory, however we must do the work to possess the promise.
Their possession was a matter of theri position -
In this season of or live God wants us to let our feet do the talking.
For far to long, so many of use have lived a sub par life, without the promises. So many of use have living with uncircumcansied Philisted encrouching our terriroty - We have look at our
Israels identiy was tied to that land becuase their succes siginfied a fulfillment of a promise given. The main point was to remind God’s chosen children them what God had promised, and that in order to fulfill his promise he requires ongoing obedience and faithfulness - Back in Exodds 23: 20
But before we posses - Joshual wantes to give instursctions, we can’t choose the promises by leave out the precepts
Clinging to the Lord
Clinging to the Lord
But the accomplishment of the Divine promise depended on their inviolable fidelity to God’s law—on their keeping resolutely aloof from all familiar intercourse and intimate connections with the Canaanites, or in any way partaking of their idolatrous sins. In the event of their continuing in stedfast adherence to the cause of God, as happily distinguished the nation at that time, His blessing would secure them a course of brilliant and easy victories (Lev. 26:7; Deut. 28:7; 32:30).
Both discourses are marked by absence of all self-exaltation or reference to his own aachievements. It is the language of one who, after long and trying experience, could sum up all he knew and felt in these words: “As for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.”
23:8 hold fast The Hebrew term davaq is elsewhere translated “hold fast,” speaking of a tenacious loyalty to and trust in Yahweh (2 Kgs 18:5–6).
Even before the Children of Israel crossed over to the promised land they came to underatnd the importance of living a life of full and total consecration - THey tasted the agony of defeat when they didn’t obey God’s plan as he had expressely stated at the battle of AI
Honor His Word
Honor His Word
Make no Compromises
Make no Compromises
In this season - that is no comprimising with the Enemy -
Gibeonites - Chapter 10 - that sometimes we have to engage in a war, not beccause we want to - but wecause of who we’re attached to. - They had made a treaty
In this season - As I collect my promise - I’m destroying everying that has hindered those who are attached to me.
vs 7 Do not profes (or even mention)
not to go among these remaining nations The forbidden mixing refers primarily to idolatry—avoiding contamination from the worship of foreign gods by non-Israelite peoples. Other mixing, such as intermarriage, would inevitably contribute to that issue (see Josh 23:12 and note), but the prohibition here is much broader than intermarriage.
Make no peace with the enemy We have replaced replaced the prayer closed for salt caves,
In this season - we have to be citity
Examples of compromise - No alliancecs - with the enemy
Reasons Why
Reasons Why
He Promised
He Promised
God is faithful to keep every promise, it doesn’t matter who long - from Geneeration Past - if he spoke it we will perform it.
“But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.
vs. 5 - The actually posses were a pledge of the cashing of a promissory note - that God made to Generations before.
God Promise - A declaration that one will do something
God’s Promise of Assured Victory - One person defeat is
God Promises, You Possess -
Time and delay does not matter - at time iin the right time God will rememeber the promise that he made to you
Noah - 40 days it rained - 150 the water recended -
The Children of Isreal - 430 years cried out - God Rememebred their Cry
just as Yahweh your God promised to you This promise occurs multiple times in the book of Genesis (Gen 12:1–3; 15:1–6, 18; 28:13; 35:12; compare Gen 48:21).
vs. 5 - The actually posses were a pledge of the cashing of a promissory note - that God made to Generations before.
He has Prepared - Driven them back
He has Prepared - Driven them back
s. 9 Driven out - Past tense - It’s already done
23:5 will push them back before you Reflects the theme that God was the power behind the conquest (see 13:6; 23:13; compare Exod 23:30; 33:2; 34:11; Deut 11:23).
He IS fighting for us
He IS fighting for us
The end of 23:10 features a participial construction expressing God’s continuing action and character, without regard for time: literally, “for Yahweh your God, he is the one who fights for you, just as he promised you.” God had fought for Israel in the past (e.g., 10:11–14), and would continue to fight for them in the future.
Yahweh your God is fighting for you See Exod 14:14; Deut 3:22.
The Reason why one is able to put 1,000 flight is because it is God who is fighting as he has promised
2 Corinthians 2:14;
The angel that went ahead to fight
vs.3- We see Joshua’s humility - Every victory won at Joshua’s hand and leading - He reminds them that the conquest of Caanan - was solely based upon God’s presence going before - (Joshua’s encounter with the angel_
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.
vs 10 - One man of you who puts to flight a thousand - We don’t like the ida of one - Dare one seems insignificant and not enough; But when it’s God is going ahead of you and promised ou. All ou need is one. David only needed one Stone; The Children of Israel only needed One Shout ; Joshua only needed One Day -to attack the Gibonenites
It’s Your INHERITENCE
It’s Your INHERITENCE
Inheritance is defined as the portion of possessions that transferred to an her upon the owner’s death. It alson mean to obtain someitn gby legal right from someon as their heir. -
Our Victory is based on a Choice - Jesus already provided a way for our victory
Our Victory is based on a Choice - Jesus already provided a way for our victory
not our Victory Through Jesus Christ - Over every enemy 1Co 15:24-25 See also Isa 42:13; Php 2:9-11; Heb 10:13;
It allows them to to participate in their destiny by the choice that they make;
Jesus complete the work for our salvation and eternal a life
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
